Like everyone else, I am absolutely thrilled to bits that Oscar is back home! I'm so very happy for his owners. A HUGE well done and thank you to the very kind person who cared enough to make sure this boy was safe and for Battersea Old Windsor who made the connection through his posters. It certainly sounds as though the net was closing and that dear Oscar was simply made too hot to handle. Relieved to hear that he will be getting a chip as a welcome home present - I expect that a replacement ID tag is also on the cards. ENJOY!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wooooooo hoooooooooo! After only talking to Oscars owners yesterday, they felt a little disheartened as there had been no news or sightings of Oscar. And how Eddie, Oscars 4 legged father, was affected badly affected by his disappearance. I simply told them to never give up hope and always told them the story of Dill and his return 18 months later. So to hear the news today of his return, has certainly made my day! Oscar was apparently found tied up outside a tube station, a member of the public took him to Uxbridge Police station at 5.15pm last night where he remained till this morning before being transferred to Battersea Old Windsor. Owner is a bit miffed that the police didnt make a connection as they had the missing report logged. Battersea received Oscar, and a connection was made immediately from seeing the Doglost poster. Battersea called owner and sent photos to owner, and owner instantly recognised Oscar. Oscar is now back home, he appears fine and owners will be booking him into the vets for necessary checks. Anyway, Ive waffled long enough.....most importantly owners wish to relay their sincere thanks to Doglost and everyone who has helped to bring Oscar safely back home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Post number 100 is the news we have been waiting for! Oscar was found tied up at a tube station and taken to Battersea Old Windsor where a member of staff recalled seeing the missing posters put up by helpers in the area and phoned delighted owners-who had just got back from America. Apparently Oscar has not stopped screaming with excitement since they were reunited . Owner would like to say a big thank you to everyone for their help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do we know if Oscar escaped or whether he was abducted? Seems unlikely anyone would steal a dog that old so prob he has been taken in. Poodles can be very appealing... can someone put an ad in dog News etc? Poodle people tend to read it. I've just put a call through to Uxbridge Police Station to check & they looked at records of dogs from 10th Feb & nothing. All dogs at Uxbridge Police Station are kept for 24 hrs only & then are picked up by Battersea.Looking at the gumtree link the contact is in Kent it seems ,I will email ,as you say Angus , worth a try.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

But he will contact me if and when he does, so if he gets any sightings I will go check the areas seen in armed with doggie treats!! Aunt Stef did you poster over towards Stockley Park?? if not I will go over there later today, I have also given some flyers to my firends who have a dog over York Avenue way they will give them out when they in their local parks which is a lot closer to where he went missing than I am xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Stef. You have done brilliantly. I know how hard you have worked. In my experience it is much better to actualy go into the pubs and ask for the posters to be displayed. Some just wont do it as they think it makes the place look untidy, but they will often let you place the flyers on the bar. I had one manager who put them in the menu sleeves on every single table. I agree we could definitely do with some more help with postering, but perhaps we will yet be lucky and some new helpers will come forward. You are so right, it can be that very last poster, that brings the dog home. We really cannot have too many, especially in any places where dogs are likely to get sold on. Havn't had much chance to be on here today but am hoping to get some posters emailed out tomorrow. Thanks again. Good effort. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have been into these pubs this afternoon : -The Heath Tavern , Carpenters & Flanagans all along the Uxbridge Rd. I saw a few people having an early drink & they took an interest as I was giving the flyer to the people behind the counter. All the bar staff were helpful & said they would put the notice up & also keep an eye out. I also took one into The Beck Theatre which they put up on their reception notice board. I have also postered some of the parks & roads around there.I don't really know the area so I could have missed some better places to poster. I did see one poster up but I think we need more posters out there ,spread further around. Especially after seeing the brilliant news about Daisy , reunited because someone had seen a poster. Thanks tonycan. Brilliant name by the way! Is there anyone on the ground there that could take posters to all the pubs for me. I am willing to compile a list if you need it, but dogs get sold on in pubs, and it is just possible this little mite has been sold to an unsuspecting customer who has fallen in love with Oscar. I mean, just look at him, he's gorgeous, but he belongs at home. Help me please, to get him back there. Also, weekend coming up, markets, boot sales, church services, footy matches. etc. We need the flyers pushing out to everyone that's about. Anyone up for it? New helpers welcome too !! Please come forward. Stay safe Oscar, until you are home lad xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If anybody does, could you please post on here so that we dont duplicate. Thanks peeps! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jayne, Have managed to get into town, and in to the internet cafe. Sorry about the curtailed telephone call, but this whole situation is very upsetting for my wife, and also to me. We thought that we would be able to have a stress free retirement. Would you please thank all of those who are doing their best to help Oscar return to his "Nanny Maureen" We are living in hope from day to day, but the uncertainty as well as the loss is very streesful. Thanks............ e mail from owners in USA. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The 30 nearest vets have now been informed with all the details. Still have more on my list to do. Thanks for the numbers Aunt Stef. Someone will get onto that tomorrow. The flyers should make life easier for you, and can be given to postmen, milkmen, binmen, and any other delivery drivers, plus walkers. Would be good if someone could put posters up on bus stops, and at the train station too. Lets hope there is some good news tomorrow. Thank you so much for your trouble. Oooh! what about RSPCA ? Anything near you ?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Smaller posters for Oscar are now on the info centre, left hand side just above Dolly's Directive Logo. Please download and print. Use them for handouts and for posting through doors. Good Luck Oscar. We are looking for you xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dont worry about which vets have been done. I will do them all, and the surrounding area. Thanks to those that have posted on here. Every little thing you can do is very much appreciated, and such a help. gailshay, you are a star ! Thank you for postering. It would be brilliant if you could notify the Dog wardens in the area for us, especially as one at least is known to you. If anyone could telephone the local rescues in the area for us, that would be fab too, and we need posters up in all the pubs, take aways, post offices, newsagents, supermarkets, garages etc. It may be that very last poster that was put up, that will bring Oscar home. Dog walkers are good at spreading the word, so if any posters could be placed at entrances to parks, and dog walking areas, that would also be wonderful. Let's do whatever we can to get Oscar known. He could have been taken in by someone who has not yet reported him as being found. Lets make him too hot to handle. Any help with emailing posters out would also be very much appreciated. Thanks everyone. Stay safe Oscar, until you are home xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I live in the UB4 part of Hayes, Yeading. I will poster the vets here and the fields near the hayes bypass today and down by Belmore School. I know you have probably tried the dogwarden at hillingdon, but if not he is a lovely guy who brought our doggie home before taking her to battersea becaue we had forgotten to change out phone number on her chip paperwork. Good LuckLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
