Statement approved by police...

It is the policy of DogLost to always work within the law and it cannot support any form of vigilante behaviour.
Roxy was taken from her owners on the pretext of a visit to the vets which they agreed to, only to find out that those involved had no intention of returning her and had Roxy re-chipped to them.
Following police contact and action, Roxy was recovered and returned to her rightful owners.
Whilst police were investigating, DogLost were unable to comment further, as issues of welfare were raised. It is for the relevant authorities to deal with such issues, not by anyone acting outside the law.
All relevant authorities have now investigated the issues raised and have found no evidence requiring any action.
I thank my Co-ordinators, volunteers and helpers for their patience and their understanding as to what happened to Roxy, who is now happily reunited with her rightful owners

Roxie is home but placed to unknown at police request.

Now after speaking with police they have approved what we can say - just a shame some details were not allowed.

Wishing you luck and love in your new life Roxy. I hope your family can give us an update as to how she is now settling. So sorry that they suffered such a traumatic time with you.

Good to see this listing has re-appeared after it seemed to disappear for a while - in-accuracies yet again in comments.

Please to say that Roxie is now reunited and home with her owners. Trading standards and police were involved and found a slight discrepancy on some dates re her pet passport but nothing to cause Roxie to be seized as illegal entry or as quoted in an email by those who took her "possibly put to sleep".
Not only did these persons act without authority but could easily have left Roxie with owners and explain certain details needed to be checked.
By keeping hold of Roxie they deprived them of starting to form a bond with their own dog and yet stating acted in interest of the dog?
Pleased this nightmare is now over for owners and they can start to enjoy time with their dog-

CJHinton If you actually cared about Roxie you would return her to the owners. Clearly this isn't the case, how can you live with yourself?

Roxie had been missing since 4th December and living rough. A local team were gaining her confidence but unable to physically catch her. She was reunited with her owners on the 29th and the team was informed that she was safely back home.

The owners of Roxie, should be made fully aware of where their dog is !
I for one would not be very happy, if one of mine were taken and information was being withheld.

CJhinton...So you know where their dog is? so why not inform the owners? Surely its for them to deal with "relevent authorities" and who are the relevent authorities? why not let them know? They are very worried as you can imagine.
Rosie
I'm not getting this? So the 'person' who took Roxie to the 'vet' has also just disappeared? If that was my dog I'd be banging their door down or calling the police! And was she not taken to her regular vet or another vet?
Unknown
For the record Doglost were advised yesterday that Roxie is SAFE and that the relevant authorities would be in touch accordingly....!

We are not saying stolen, she was taken with consent of the owner. We do not know which vet she was taken to, maybe an irregularity with paperwork? If that was the case then surely her owners should have been contacted. We would just like to be able to locate her and for them to know that she is safe.
Lynne
I'm over the moon that Roxie was finally found after a huge effort from some dedicated people. I have followed her story from the beginning and I'm sure it would benefit the poor dog if a more considered approach is taken rather than a post saying she's been stolen. I don't know what's happened but I feel sure there's a lot more going on behind the scenes.
Josephine Pinfold
Who collected her, plus which Vet was an appointment made with ?
