Newly castrated and ready for a new home. Lovely photos on the Acorn Kennels Whitchurch facebook page. He seems like a very gentle dog and hopefully he will get the best Christmas present ever.

Latest update from Leonard Brothers Facebook page. Hope he copes well in kennels. **** STRAY DOG UPDATE ****
The Dog Warden has in the last 30 minutes collected this gorgeous lad and taken him to ACORN KENNELS . Legally the council has to rehome the dog so despite our very best efforts and that of the wonderful foster carer this cannot be avoided. He will be castrated and will be available to rehome in approx 8 days, depending on when the operation can be completed . ACORN KENNELS, WHITCHURCH - 01948662931. Thanks to the power of Facebook Acorn Kennels already have a list of 12 people wishing to rehome this beautiful, lovely natured dog. The cost to rehome is £120. Please contact Acorn directly if you are intersted in rehoming him.
******* THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE EXPRESSED CONCERN AND INTEREST FOR THIS DOG - WE APPLAUD YOU ALL AND APOLOGISE THAT WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RESPOND INDIVIDUALLY TO EACH QUESTION/MESSAGE. NEVER BEFORE HAVE WE PUT SOMETHING ON FACEBOOK TO HAVE SO MUCH INTEREST***********************************************************
We have named him George, so lets make sure George gets his FOREVER HOME for Christmas

Sadly not reunited yet though. many dog Wardens and kennels are brilliant but Acorn Kennels is not a place I would want my dog to end up in. The constant barking of distressed dogs is heartbreaking. Fingers crossed tomorrow brings good news for this lovely lad.

CROSS POSTED from fb:

He's still with us. Good as gold , walks well on lead . Just to confirm he is not microchipped and he has not been castrated. He is wearing a red collar, no tag. We think approx 4 years of age and in good health. We understand his owners may not use social media , with the level of interest we would normally have found the owner by know so maybe he is not from this area so THANK YOU FOR SHARING. The police do not assist directly with these situations, we have to report to the dog warden who will be back on duty Monday. We are arranging interim foster care over the weekend in the hope this will give the owner chance to come forward. Meanwhile please let us know if you have any information, we are available on 01270 652121 until 1230, after this time it is best to PM us via Facebook.

This lovely dog is getting lots of comments on the Leonard Brothers facebook page but no joy so far. He could have come from anywhere in the UK and needs lots of shares to try to get him home. He is due to go to local kennels tomorrow and he looks such a gentle soul...
