Thay have CCTV of a man thay are hunting in the connection with the disappearance of Tilly and Ellie (the dog that was hit by a car after being taken from outside boots in Ormskirk and then left in St Helens ). Lets hope they can find this man and find out WHY??? I'll keep you upto date with whats in the paper . To all be safe Marg XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fingers crossed this CCTV footage helps the police find this person before he does it again, someone must recognise him. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The Ormskirk Advertiser did a front page feature (31st Jan), this week's also has a front page feature showing very clear CCTV photos of the man that took Tilly and sadly Ellie. The photo of Ellie on the train will no doubt upset the owner but hopefully someone will know him and he will be caught. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

FANTASTIC NEWS, yes Tilly has been found, owner has gone to pick her up. Spoke to owner at lunch time and then got a call from them at about 1500 hrs to say they had had a call in response to the media coverage in the St Helen?s Star (THANK YOU to St Helen?s Star and The Ormskirk Advertiser ? who have done a story on the two recent incidences)??.. A couple picked Tilly up in the St Helen?s area on Tuesday the same day she was spotted in McDonald?s. The finder thought she was a bin bag in the undergrowth, they took her home and fell in love with her (they have just lost their own cat), they said to her owner how lovely and obedient Tilly is. Their neighbour seen the article today in The St Helen?s Star and immediately went to tell them. Tilly?s owners are over the moon and are so pleased she has been getting looked after and not wandering the streets or being mistreated. Her ID had been removed. Pity the finders did not inform the DW etc but at least it has ended well. Thank you for looking after her and to everyone who has helped her owners in their search. If any posters are seen can they please be taken down. Have asked owner to try and send a reunited photo a.s.a.p. they do not have a mobile phone but hopefully their kind neighbour?s son will help them. Welcome home Tilly great to see you in the Blue. Thanks Deb and skyjack, unfortunately the other dog was involved in a fatal RTA, he was chipped and owner has been notified. RIP boy. As Tilly's owner does not have internet access I am making contact when I can, relaying messages and getting information from them. If anyone else can also relay info that would be very helpful, due to my work commitments I cannot speak to them until the evening times. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What awful news that another dog has been snatched in the same area i know from speaking to Tillys owner that Morrisons dont have cctv cameras fitted how ridiculous i now. My partners postman (st helens) has said he will put a poster up at the gpo they can prove to be very helpful spotting strange dogs appearing so anyone else in and around the might be worth having a word with yours .Also has anyone postered the train station were this youth was spotted i cant get into town now before next week so if anyone can get there before me that could be worth while .Is it only going in the star the Lierpool Echo did an excellant article for me when Bertie was stolen it was amazing the response i got from that i know Tillys mum doesnt have access to the net which is such ashame i dont know how i would have coped without evryones kind messages and support . Spoken to owner they have visited Leigh Cats & Dogs Home and Liverpool RSPCA yesterday and left a poster. Been postering in St Helens Town Centre, taxi ranks, newsagents, supermarkets and the area around McDonalds. Story will be in the St Helens Star on Thursday. Owners have now got a crime numer from the Police. The day after Tilly was stolen another dog (BC) was taken from outside Boots in Ormskirk. Police have CCTV footage of a youth with the dog getting on a train from Liverpool to St Helens. Owners need all the help they can get to poster the St Helens area. Have you aked Morrisons or McDonalds if they have any CCTV footage? You may be able to get a car reg and the police would be able to chase it up. After all it is a crime, it is theft. I go to St Helens regularly, I have put posters on my car, and I will keep a look out.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks skyjack, fingers crossed the St Helens Star runs a story as they did for your two, which was a brilliant result, hope they have settled back home now. If you could help with any of the postering that would be greatly appreciated. There are smaller posters on the Info Centre. We need to get Tilly's picture displayed as much as possible. Owner should contact the Leigh Cats and Dogs home which is where any dogs found in this area go. Daily Post/Liverpool Echo have said that they will run doglost stories but it seems a bit hit and miss as to whether they go in. I will poster around the morrisons store in Ormskirk to see if anyone recognised Tilly and may haved seen something. St Helens is not that far from Ormskirk. Hope we find her soon. She was with a man who took her into Macdonalds a worker was concerned because of health and safety rules and approached the man and rang the number on the collar to inform owner-must have had her suspicions. then the man left with the dog.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Given owner DW and Rescue Centre contact numbers. Advice on what to do. Tilly is an AIN rescue dog and owner is checking if chip details are still with AIN or herself, chip company can then be contacted. The Ormskirk Advertiser have run a story, I've given owner contact number for St Helens Star, who are very good. Owner does not know anyone with internet access, but will try and find someone. I'll send some posters so they can get them copied in a local printers. Hopefully Tilly will be home soon. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to owner, who does not have internet access or a mobile phone that takes pictures. Discussed ways of getting a photo to DL, which hopefully should receive soon. Tilly is SPAYED, long haired, black with a touch of whilte on her chest. She was wearing a red leather collar, with disc 'SCAN ME'. Tilly was seen 20 mins in the McDonalds after going missing, so must have been taken there by car. Will speak again to owner, they are going to try and sort getting the photo to us.
