Claire, I have just read your poem, and it brought tears to my eyes. then reading to the end I found it so moving. I will never forget Jack.
Mary
That is lovely Claire, I hope it brings Jack's family some comfort in such tragic circumstances.
ClaireC
It's my first day in heaven,
And what a beautiful place,
You'll be glad to know,
There's a smile upon my face,
The moment I left you,
Two angels in white,
Carried me up here,
To heaven that night.
All those stories you hear ,
About rainbow bridge are true,
But you don't walk over it,
The angels carried me through,
There's a gate at the end,
Made of real pearl,
It must be the biggest gate,
In the world!
Once I got in and started looking around,
You just won't believe all the things that I found!
The first place they took me,
Had to be the most fun,
A humongous field,
With miles and miles to run!
Once I was tired the angels said,
We'll take you to your home,
But first we need to stop by this place
Full of tasty bones,
They told me to take one with me,
But one is all I need,
Because every good thing lasts forever,
Up in heaven you see,
They took me to my new house,
It took my breath away,
Most beautiful place I've ever seen,
With a huge yard to play,
They said come on lets go inside ,
And have a look around,
They took me to the bottom floor,
You won't believe what I found,
The bottom of my house is a window
And you won't believe the view,
See my house it sets right over yours,
So I can still keep an eye on you!
I was so worried about you,
When I went away,
Now I can watch you every second,
And know that you are okay!
I can't wait for that moment,
When we can walk around this place,
And I can cover you with puppy kisses,
On every inch of your face!

Can't stop thinking about little Jack and his poor owners. Please, someone, take this further! If not the police, then maybe the Dog Warden. Or an organisation that 'polices' vet behaviour. Please keep us updated.
JEAN
So sorry :( Poor Jack, Run free beautiful boy X
#stoppettheft
Yes, CJ - so very very sad & should never ever have come to this Tragic, Sad end for Jack & His distraught Family should it ? totally inexcusable what this Lady 'finder' did & how unprofessional of the Vet, if it is true that they PTS without any Scans, Blood Tests etc. I DO Hope this Case is investigated thoroughly by Police & Veterinary Association.
It is the LAW to Report a Found Dog - so this Lady HAS Broken the Law hasn't She
RIP Gorgeous Boy xx- No Words or actions can ever bring You back but this must never happen again ?
DogLostCJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
So sad and I feel two people here should hang their heads in shame. Unless the vet had x ray vision there is no immediate test to confirm cancer in a dog- it needs blood , samples and takes about 7 to 10 days.So did they vets do this ? Who paid? As taken on in a vets it was a new patient so even if the woman was known to the vets they still should have scanned the dog and she should have told the vet it was a dog had found and picked up 40 miles away . The vet would know the law ( well i would hope so !!) and would have said it needs reporting to dog warden in area found!!
NickyB
this is so sad. the woman saw this dog and i think sadly wrongly thought it abandoned. if jack had an id tag on his collar (thousands of dogs lost and found do not have id tags) she could have phoned owner. she should have told dog warden and could have offered to care for him. the vets need questioning - did they scan him? so many dogs do not have a microchip either............ i am always begging dog owners to be sure their dog has up to date chip and id tag.......... to avoid a tragedy like this ever happening.
susieq666
Whatever was this woman thinking of? How cruel can you be? I hope she can be identified - the vet too - and that there's some sort of come-uppance, if only public condemnation.

So very upset to read this - RIP dear Jack you family are in my thoughts. J. xx
sheltielover
Thank you to the witnesses who came forward and gave Jack's family the knowledge that he was not suffering somewhere on his own or with someone he was not happy with, and was not looking after him. I hope that the woman who took him understands the terrible pain she has caused his family. Run free at the bridge Jack, young again, rounding up those sheep.
sukimax

RIP Gorgeous boy.Thinking of Jack's family at this devastating news who have done everything possible to find him xxx xxx
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
I am gutted to be posting this on behalf of Jack's Loving owners.UPDATE ON JACK... Unfortunately the phone call we had received was not a hoax. We eventually found out that Jack was picked up by this woman on the day he went missing. This woman took him home with her, which is over 40 miles away from Jack's home, and then found out that he wasn't eating. This is something that he was already under investigation for with our own Vet for and was awaiting further tests, but was showing no signs of any discomfort in the meantime. She then took him to her own Vet, who said that he had cancer and had him put to sleep.

It's a shame that this woman didn't report the fact that she had found Jack to the Dog Warden, as she was required to do by law (she picked him up 500 yards from our farm track). Maybe then we would have had the chance to be reunited with him in time, and for him to be able to spend his last days with his family who loved him, and not in strange surroundings, which knowing Jack like we did, would have been terrifying for him. It would also have given us the chance to say goodbye to him and bury him ourselves, but she denied us the opportunity to bury him by not telling us which Veterinary clinic she had taken him to.

North Wales Police are aware of all the circumstances surrounding this incident.

We would like to thank DogLost and everyone else for their help and concern during our search for Jack, and the witnesses who contacted us which allowed us to find out what had happened to him.
sheltielover
If you made that telephone call - whether the information you gave was true or you did this as a malicious hurtful 'evil joke' find a way of letting us know. HAVE A HEART I BEG YOU. Ring again and give us the truth.
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
Vets in the area have been emailed and messaged with Jack's Doglost poster so they are aware and none have come back to say he has been taken to them.
sukimax
This must be so upsettng for you,I hope this persons family do not become old and maybe frail, We all know our pets tell us when it is their time and we know ourselves, How dare someone do this and if they have please for decency sake and closure for this poor family get in touch with them again, They are going to be left wondering what has happened to Jack, Dont be so cruel, I have shared this on many pages for you in the hopes that someone will have heard some thing, Prayers and thoughts are with you at this horrible time,If your out there Jack it is time to show yourself boy, xxx
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
Jack was seen a week or two by owners own vet as Jack wasn't eating,he was put on a special food that was helping him. There was no sign of ill health his coat may have been a bit messy as he loves to roll around in the mud with his animal friends on the farm he was half way through being clipped when he went missing. He is a very much loved member of the family who are missing him terribly. The police are involved and With Held numbers can be traced x

Drone SAR For Lost Dogs UK, are aware of Jack, and pilot Jamie Tyrrell, is the person best placed to deal with this and knows the area well. We are following all updates on Jack..
Myrath
Fine. I'll leave to you then
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
Myrath Vets in the surrounding area have been contacted. Jack may have been taken anywhere so very important his Doglost. Poster is shared far and wide x
Myrath
Georgy Porgy I have already asked for drone help and have been told by the pilot that he needs a recent sighting before he will do a fly over of the area. Is anyone else phoning the vets in Gwynedd in regards to the phone call? It won't look good if I phone and someone else already and then I phone them again
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
Sheltielover if you share the poster Jack's photo shows xx
Georgy Porgy
Would owner consider help from a drone to search fields etc just in case reported info re 4x4 is incorrect. Likely a malicious call today as well. Do DRONE SAR operate in Wales?
Myrath
I have managed to obtain permission for a drone pilot to fly in Llanbedr Airspace to search the area, ie sand dunes and where the cyclists were seen with Jack. However, as the post about the phone call has now gone public the pilot will not fly and says he is monitoring the situation. I feel given Jacks age and health issues time is of the essence. Does anyone know of a drone pilot that could fly Llanbedr for the owner please?
sheltielover

sukimax
This is horrendous ,How can anyone do that without knowing any facts, Jack was an older boy, Surely a vet would not do this without proof of ownership, Hopefully it is a hoax call,Keeping my thoughts with Jack and his owners, xx
sheltielover
Is there any way that the share option could be updated to show Jack's photograph as it only shows the DogLost Logo and 'awaiting for photo. A lot of Facebook users do not click the links and see the page. We may be missing valuable information from people who may not see what Jack looks like.
Molliemoo
Sorry to read about the distressing phone call. I really hope it's not true. Surely a vet would have checked for a chip. Keeping everything crossed for your old boy.

Myrath
I have checked the local vet to me when I was there earlier and they said no one had been in with a dog matching Jack's description but I will be ringing round the vets in the morning.
sheltielover
It is beyond belief that anyone would be so cruel to do this to the owners. No vet has any right to put some ones dog down without proof that they are the owners. All dogs found have to be reported to the Dog Warden in the area it is found - this is the law, as we all know. If this person has done what they say they have done then this is THEFT.
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
Thank you Jayne xx
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Owner has had a distressing call from someone (number with held...what a coward) To say they found her dog and as was in such a bad state took it to a vets to be put down....The finder then went on to tell owner you were not looking after the dog...But would not give details of vets.
Sorry 15 years of doing this I am qualified to say I smell a rat!
The person who rang had an English accent..so probably on holiday....any shares could help.
sheltielover
Just seen on Owner's Facebook page, black and white Collie seen walking towards Talybont, from Dyffryn at 6am this morning, could possibly be Max.
sheltielover
Any news at all on Max. Have the sand dunes sea side of Llanbedr Airfield been searched.
Elliw
He was seen by 3 cyclists on the main road heading into Llanbedr. They had no way of taking him so they have tried to leave him in a field. This was at approx 1.15 on Wednesday afternoon 08/11/17.
Hollieberry
When was Jack seen ?
DogLostJan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator
UPDATE- He was seen by the sharp bend going into Llanbedr and 3 cyclists and a bus had stopped with him but had no means of taking him anywhere, but don't know where he went after this.

I have spoken to Jack's owner this morning and advised contacting police for CRN x

There is an elderly tri colour border collie being held at Chichester council. I know it's far away but the leg markings are very similar. 01243 785166
