Owners statement on dedicated Facebook group for Red - ''RED and her Mum Shadow went missing on 7th November on a dog walk up at surrender bridge on the moor between Swaledale and Arkengathdale just before dark. I slept up there in my camper whistling them (a 211 1/2 gunsight whistle). The next morning I drove around the moors whistling her while my husband covered a different area shouting for them. We got a sighting that a pointer was on a hill called Calva near Reeth, then we got calls saying a pointer was near Grinton bridge. By the time we got there she had been put on a lead her collar read and she was returned to me but this was just the Mum Shadow.
There have not been any sightings of RED who is a very pale example of a German Wirehaired Pointer. She is mostly white. She has a liver head, liver patch on right hand side and a patch on her right rump area. Her left side is just white!
RED is very wary of strangers so it's unlikely she will come up to you. She is a very good hunter so I hope she is getting enough to eat from rabbits. She is NOT interested in sheep. She has been beating over in Wensleydale and loved it but not this year. She points to birds but doesn't catch them.''
