My 30 year old son called tonight on the way home from work at South Wimbledon. He had passed a poster up, and taken down the number incase they weren't registered with dL - bless him as if we don't have enough just now, lol. Anyhow, he rang to tell me but didn't have dogs name, so he rang the number on the poster - it was for Jack!! Owner is still over the moon with DL and all the help she received. Son instructed to remove said poster on his way home today, lol. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jack was found in Raynes Park by a lady this afternoon. Poor little fella didn't have a clue where he was until owner got to the house to collect, and he was over the moon to see her. Very tired, but still managed to play with his mate at home waiting for him for a short time. Feet OK and aside from needing a good bath Jack is happy and healthy. Stay safe now Jack and no moe adventures!! Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have emailed friends in Southfields who walk their Patterdale every day on the common, also do give some posters in at the Gold Club clubhouse by the Windmill, and esp poster the Windmill cafe regularly - in fact put leaflets in car windows in the car park there - and also at the more exclusive golf club on the other side of the common - Wimbledon side.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just done Roehampton, bus stops + phone boxes + near shops. went onto Wimbledon common via an underpass not shown on AZ so left posters there. Met dogwalkers + handed out flyers. What a nice bunch of people + dogs. Barnes vet has put up poster for everyone to see. Will go back + do Asda's again monday. Also saw horse hoof marks so someone rides through the woods. Good LuckLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Smaller posters are now available on info centre, left hand site just above Dolly's Directive logo. Please download and print. Use them for handouts and for posting through doors. Good Luck xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I used to keep a horse at Robin Hood Gate and would ride over to the common, so a poster there would be good. Also various colleges in Roehampton would reach a large number of people.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good advise Austin I was just going to say the rangers they are a grate help on the common and have help before when dogs have gone missing on there. get lots of posters up. also it may be worth putting smaller poster in some of the house near the underpass as a lot of them have very long gardens and he may have gone into a shed or a out build or garage. Asda is a good idea to when posting also the crematory is a good idea to as this is very quite and lots of rabbits, also put poster at the Richmond Gates if they let you and the other gates as a lot of walkers there to. and also the service station. Have you tried some of my old clients, caroline at wimbledon village stables and Julia at ridgway stables? They are out on the common alot and have a excellent view from the top of a horse! The rangers too are a well organised bunch, if anyone can find your dog, they can. Austin Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What about a poster at Asda's lot of dog walkers go there on A3. Will poster Roehampton side , dont worry I dont do trees, will do bus stops on common side. Good luck. Dont think the huskies wouldve harmed him its just a lot of noise. Terriers are tough.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner and dog walker very pro active and lots of the common area is covered. Jack lives further afield and dog walker takes him to the common a few times a week by car. Parks in the 'Telegraph' area and walks through the underpass to common. Jack was chased by these other dogs, we don't know if he was injured. Owner has been up there everyday since he went off and not one person has seen him. He may well be in the housing part of Parkside now, so any helpers along there please poster. He ran past Windmill when he took off, but he also may have doubled back. Its guessing as we know, so cover every eventuallity. Owner has also been to the local pubs, Green Man, Telegraph etc with posters. I will email the dog wardens for merton and wandsworth. Police aware, Rangers aware. Now, there is also a possiblity that he may make for Robin Hood area, Richardson Evans playing fields, he'd get there via the back of the cemetery. There is a property that he has been too before in the vicinity. We are adding to poster 'do not approach'. Jack is very very shy and likely to run off if spoken too or walked towards. Thanks River lady, when you can is always a help. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nettie thanks, I'll go do the underpass areas and around the Telegraph pub etc. If you can spread the word on your walks and maybe hand out a few posters it would be great. Not a lot of time today for more, hospital visiting sorry. Sue x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I think the owners have already approached the Rangers, there are posters (not DL Posters) at a couple of the Common which I noticed yesterday, one on the main carpark noticeboard at the Windmill, one also at the carpark on Camp Road near Wimbledon Village. Walk up there nearly every day, am carrying a spare lead just in case, will concentrate on the Queensmere area. SueW if you need help please contact me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has anyone notified Stone Lion Vets they are on Wimbledon Common?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Forgot to say please don't poster the trees and common the Ranger do a great job notifying regular runners and walkers over there. However, there is a possiblility that Jack may turn around and head back towadr Queensmere and therefore the underpasses to Alton Estate by Putney Vale Cemetery, and further up near to Tibbetts Corner. So please also poster up that way. Will try and get out tomorrow, work permitting as we don't have many helpers that way. Any offers, please let me know (Riverlady?) Any new helpers in that area since Konas posters went up? Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Soon as we get photo I'll send on to Rangers office. Just a reminder that Kona is still missing in that area, so please poster for her also. Thanks Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
