Mitchell, thanks for the lovely update and it is great that Jack was found so quickly. Welcome on board DL and you can now help others in the same position you were in. Give Jack a big cuddle and hug from all on DL. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I explained to Lynn (owner) that although driving around looking was in her eyes `doing something' she just might as well be postering while she is driving - as no one will know he is lost if they are not told. TV and radio dont give much -radio did give it out though must admit - but only day one - it has to be pretty sensational to get on TV So postering comes out the most important top of the list thing to do asap - IreneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, what a brill ending for Jack and his owners. I have just gotten back from a client and got a message through to let me know that he was home. I am so thrilled for all concerned and cant thank our Lincoln helpers enough, we have a great band of helpers now and its lovely to see and hear everyone working so well together. I had gone over to Holbeach today and had kept our eyes open going past over the Boston area. Once again welcome home Jack, and well done to you all for helping to get him back. Thanks Jan Hx.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

well a happy ending to a mad two days - jack is now smelling sweet:) and on his way home for a much needed rest and cuddle (bet he is on tne bed tonight[G]) He had made his way to the area that Lynn takes him to exercise - he always goes by car - so strange how they work it out eh) Lucky we had posted the area and once the phone calls started coming it was just a case of catching up with him! He was hungry and ate a pack of food - but honestly looked none the worse for the adventure? Its time's like this you wish they could talk!! Thanks for all the help at DOGLOST what ever did we do befor we had you:) Thanks to Janette who was out till almost midnight! Paddy and Audrey who helped today - and everyone who called to let us know they had seen him Irene IreneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so very pleased for you - you must have been so worried about him. Just goes to show that if owners, friends & DL Helpers unite and put in the legwork, it pays dividends. Well done all those involved in getting this lovely lad transferred to the 'Blue Area'. Just so happy that Jack is back home safe and sound, albeit a bit pongy! Welcome home boy!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hello everyone, we have all been out from this morning and covered the local marshes to where the accident happened, and had a few sightings of Jack, when Lyn the owner and Irene took the route to where Jack usually walks on the marsh and the rest of us went up onto the next bit of marsh , then i had a text from irene saying they had found him in amongst trees and alert and so happy he had found his owner Lyn. Irene is now got him at her home and jack is having a lovely bath to get rid of the smells , wot a outcome!! We want to thank everyone concerned in there help in finding Jack. and for doglost , this website is amazing!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poster has now been sent out to all Lincolnshire Dog Wardens. Owner if you have no luck today, I will call you this evening. I am driving around today and will keep a look out. Please get posters up at all the Car dealers around aswell as they go out and about today with customers trying out cars. Could helpers also make sure that if they do see Jack they try to make as little eye contact as possible, talk in a nice quiet monotone voice, and take high value food or treats out for him such as chicken or ham etc as he will probably be a little hungry. Many thanks Jan HxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

paddy you beat me to it, or you could try any Smiths or a shop that sells stationary and when you do put them on the posters put the open part at the bottom so the rain can not run down in to the opening. Issey please do not worry about Jack as GSD are very good in looking after them selfs they act very different when on there own survival kick in, and he would have found some where dry to sleep. have a look at Ceaser page a GSD that had gone missing and was found 7 months later and he was a very nervous dog but when caught he was so confident, he had to be to have look after himself all that time. So please do not worry easy said then done I know. good luck for tomorrow. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Am hoping he will find somewhere to sleep dry and warm - plenty of old barns out there - it just worries me that he is so nervous - I have known Jack since a puppy - so know how he will react to strangers. Hopefully a sighting tomorrow Paddy I will be at the Castle car park at 10 am if you can make it many thanks - my mobile 07903594996 IreneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jack is properly gone to ground and will not appear until first light it is good that helpers are going first thing to try and get sightings, and armed with something that smells of owner and some good smelly food ie sausages and chicken and sardines, Owner even tho he knows you he may be to afraid to approach, so if sighted let him come to you and better if you are sitting down. good luck hope you get this lovely boy. oh! I used a road atlas not a postcode directory to see where it is...:-( There is a place called Frieston not too far away...could the poster be changed? I'll re-email the people I've mailed. Freiston looks like a far safer place to be lost (too many fast A roads near Frieston)...fingers crossed!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
