A sad & sorry ending for this little one. Does she have a name? RIP 'unknown girl' X

OK - so it appears that our girl was a working dog on an estate in Hampshire. She was hit by a car and ran off. I guess that she ended up in the Kennet and was washed all the way down river. So sad but now we know.

Find Fern....is a young black/white female who was stolen in 2013. She has a 3/4 length docked tale. Don't really want to upset the owner by posting this to their site although they may have seen it. https://www.facebook.com/findfernwithme/photos/a.122199877979689.1073741825.122198547979822/690872891112382/?type=1&theater

Bless you Tony not only for ruling our own out but for the care your taking both of her and looking for an owner. We know lot of spaniels that are lost ad stolen..... A year ago in Devon isn't ringing any bells but in the last year up country is..Will go hunt back to see if I can find out why. We keep records of everything we have ever been sent over Pup.

Thanks again Tony xx

CJ thanks to you as well.... There are 3 spaniels stolen this way after Pup....One of those WAS chipped in Devon. She isn't on a data base and will never be put on one (we have tried to persuade them as this is their second one stolen) Obviously the local one here is docked but chipped at 8 weeks its possible found girl is?

Will go see if the last 3 digests on her chip match their one as I know both of theirs were docked and chipped in Devon. xx

Who ever you are little one you have a tear fro a stranger coming over that Bridge with you xxxx

Grateful thanks to Jonathan Wood Veterinary Surgeons who have been extremely helpful. They have tracked down the breeder. Can confirm this would be a one year old black and white cocker spaniel chipped by them at 8 weeks.. They are awaiting to hear back from breeder in hope they can locate owner.Once i get these details I will pass it on to Tony.
This can eliminate many owners searching to see if a match.
I have updated details in the search boxes.

Just a further note about location. It was found at low-tide at the mouth of the river Crane in Isleworth, literally yards from joining The Thames. It could have washed down The Crane or The Thames. However, as these parts of the Thames and Crane are tidal the dog could even have been carried upstream from further East.

Alison I can say this is not Indigo as chip numbers do not match. We have put chip number into data base and any dogs registered with that number would show. Sadly no matches.
I have spoken to the vets that implanted the chip and no matches on their system either.
The chip type is Identibase ( formally anibase) and was implanted by a vets in Crediton Devon. If any one does not have their chip listed on doglost and would like to check the number held then please send it to admin.
The dog has been looked at by Wayne - Emergencies Co-ordinator who can ID all kinds animals . From the picture he is sure this is a young Spaniel .

Mary - Dog Lost already have the chip number - thanks.

Seeks - the body pigmentation is pink. There is still some black fur on the right shoulder and flank. However, the chip number ends 223.

Allison - wrong chip number, I'm afraid.

The chip implanter is based on the edge of Dartmoor with an EX17 postcode if this helps anyone. Possibly the dog was bred in this area? However, it must have been moved a substantial distance to have ended up in this river system. I have lodged an enquiry with the implanter (or at least the organisation to which the chip was supplied) and hope that they can provide information. Thanks all.Last edited: 2017-08-31 08:36:46 by tony bull

I am so sorry to read this Tony..... Can you tell me what colour the body igmentation is as that will denote whats black and what was white.....

My own Spaniel is also missing after being stolen almost four years ago so we woul like to rule her out...

If you ca email Doglost the pic they can tell us if the skin pigmentation could be Pup..... She had a very long tail dock often people think its a full tail as its only the last 2.5" taken ff...

Their email is admin@doglost.co.uk or if you want to email it direct we are non.hannon@yahoo.co.uk Pups chip ends between 050 - 059 .... We know the chip company put unregistered on her chip the day she was stolen (don't ask) and though its meant to have been sorted we don't know it stayed sorted beyond them saying it did.... xx

Allison I really hope its not Indigo either.... Poor mite who ever it is though xx
Allison
Please check Doglost id 118897
Indigo is missing from her home in Radcot, Oxfordshire. Indigo is a female black and white Munsterlander. There is a possibility that she got into the river by her home that I believe is part of the Thames. She has been missing a couple of weeks. She was wearing a black collar when she went missing but this may have come off or been removed. This dog has been found about 70 miles down river from where Indigo went missing, that would mean her body washing down on average 5 miles a day which is possible. Please check this out against Indigo. Last edited: 2017-08-31 10:08:58 by Allison

Hi Tony - if you can get the person who scanned this dog to contact DogLost they will hopefully be able to check if there is a missing dog on their database, with that chip number.
