Thank you for the reunited photos. Absolutely fabulous and why we do what we do. A big well done to team Bella and it was a real honour to be a small part of the East Sussex team who are fab! Well done everyone and Terri your kind words to Honey's owner a few days ago made my day. Stay safe now lovely Bella.
Mary
What great news. Well done all involved and welcome home lovely Bella. I hope your eye is better soon and keep wagging that tail.

Great news :) Well done to all involved.

Lovely reunited photos. Welcome home Bella.xx

Had to get to place with internet to post this and say how thrilled I am for Terri, her family and of course Bella. (Thanks Bobble for helping whilst I'm away & to Jenny for her text with the news)
I gather that Bella has a very poorly eye but is going to the vet to see how she is after being out there for nearly 4 wks.
I have to say that Terri & her family did absolutely everything right to find little Bella & it goes to show that you should never give up. Well done to the lovely chap who found Bella and who has made Bella's family so happy today!

Only one request now that anyone seeing posters for Bella to please take them down! Thanks so much to all of you for searching, postering & supporting Terri over the last weeks.
Welcome home Bella :)

Such fantastic news for Terri who searched relentlessly for Bella and spent many a night out looking and having BBQ's - so well deserved to have Bella home safely. Well done to the local community who kept their eyes open for Bella and well done to the guy that found her caught up in bushes just yards from home - probably stealing that cocktail sausage thrown away after a BBQ there only 2 days ago!
I have spoken to Clarkey who was over the moon.
Unknown
Fantastic news I am so pleased for you , was she still wearing her harness?
Well done all who helped by sharing looking etc and espicially to Clarkey for being the rock for the Owner.
Welcome home Sweetheart xxx
Terri
I can't thank everyone enough!! I don't think I could have kept going if it wasn't for everyone's help and support it really has been amazing!!! A special thank u to clarkey for spending hours on the phone with me over the last 3 weeks, I have left her a message but she has bad signal so I'm sure she will get it later. I haven't got round to getting back on Facebook as my phone is going crazy but I will get round to it. Bella is in really good condition considering, she is very thin and she has a few scrapes and her eyes need checking by the vet but we have an appointment this evening. She is totally shattered but she now has a full belly and had a nice bath (but she still smells) and she is sleeping on my lap and before we lost her she hadn't actually ever actually wagged her tail yet today I went out the room and came back in and she properly wagged her tail. I am so so happy and grateful to everyone thank u all so much for everything xxxx

@ Sheba Honey, thank for your thank you and true words, that is why donations are so important to pay for keeping the sight running.

:) Wonderful news to come home to. Has anyone texted Clarkey to let her know?

Great news. X

So relieved Bella is safely home. Very famous little dog, I thought facebook would crash when the news hit that she is home. Well done Terri and family. No need for your barbecue in the fields tonight. Supper in front of the telly snuggled with your fur baby. Jillxx
Sheba Honey
What wonderful news for Bella and Terri, well done to everyone involved in this, amazing result and so great to have a happy ending. Also see that Honey the dog lost in Seaford last Thursday has safely been reunited with their owner too. Thank you to the co ordinators of Dogs Lost for making it possible to have this website, and for all it does. None of us who are dog owners know if we may need their help one day.

Just confirmed from owner Bella is home so pleased for you and well done
Stay safe now Bella xxxx

Have been looking in Piddinghoe. There were already posters up and I have also given one to the lady in the pig farm. The footpath that goes past that goes right up to Hoddern and the fields beyond the big park. I have been up there but will go again. Another dog is lost also in the Rodmell
area for some weeks now. I also noticed what appears to be a small caravan community or campers off the C7 to the west of piddinghoe just outside Newhaven but I don't know how to get to it. It is only 1 or 2 and looks to be on private land perhaps at the back of one of the houses on the west side. There has also been a festival a bit further on in the valley on the same side. I can put posters around in rodmell if I can collect some new ones. I will go today to the river bank at southeast also and later when I have posters can drop some into the youth hostel and cafe. I have also been to Telsombe village and handed a couple of posters to walkers.

I can get some up to date ones.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
If not done already please could people in the area push the search out wider, Saltdean, Piddinghoe, Rodmell etc. It is not far across country to Saltdean or Piddinghoe are people living there aware that Bella is missing?

Mary
Have all the buildings at Hoddern Farm been checked recently to see if Bella has found a cosy sleeping place there, perhaps in one of the barns.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Just to give you a bit more encouragement please know that over 4,000 people (views) have looked at the page now!
Good to hear a possible new lead and I too hope it pays off.

Terri
Firstly thank you all so much for your help and support and giving me the encouragement I have needed in order to keep doing everything I can to find Bella and to stay positive. It has been an emotional rollercoaster!! Although we haven't had any definite sightings, we do have a very tiny lead that I am clutching with both hands and running with it and hopefully it will pay off. I will keep everything updated and hopefully soon the next update will be that we have found her!! I couldn't have kept going and kept hope without all the support I have received it really has been overwhelming and I have so grateful!!!
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Sorry for not posting recently.
> > > There is now a REWARD for the SAFE RETURN of Bella < < <
As it's unusual to have no new sightings we have to think that perhaps someone has taken Bella in and that they are thinking that she has not got anyone who cares for her. However, we know that it not true as Terri and her family have and are still doing absolutely everything that they can to find her. Alternatively Bella may be in a completely different area which could be why no one has seen her recently.

If anyone knows of someone who has a new dog that looks like Bella (a neighbour or someone in your road perhaps) then please let Terri know or call Doglost in total confidence so that the family can check it out.
If someone has taken Bella in then I would remind them that it is REQUIRED BY LAW to report finding any dog to the DOG WARDENS. Failure to do so can be regarded as 'theft by finding' Last edited: 2017-09-05 20:08:43 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Terri
Thank u all so much!! We have put up more posters today and we have been searching slightly further outwards from the fields. I have searched epinay park the other days and spoke to a few local dog walkers but the oval could do with searching again so I will head up there tomorrow and search more thoroughly around there and add some more posters. Thank u the more eyes we have looking for her the better chance we have of spotting her, fingers crossed everyone xxx
Monkey
Hi Terri - I am also local and registered to let you know that I have also been out looking for Bella since she went missing. When I drive in the area I do so very slowley and look out for her. Perhaps its also worth looking in The Oval and Epinay Park. Has anyone put psoters up in Telscombe Village and Piddinghoe do you think? I am keeping everything crossed for you! Just wanted you to know that others are looking that aren't registered here and also my local friends are looking out for her too.
pip
Gutted I can't help you tomorrow but I shall be sending positive vibes from afar good luck and I pray you get a positive result. X
Terri
Thank u all so much for ur help and support it really has been amazing and overwhelming. We are arranginging a search party tomorrow at 4pm and we will be meeting at the bottom of cissbury avenue by the field. Everyone is welcome the more the merrier, however, please leave ur dogs at home as this may scare her.
pip
Can't believe people can say such things before engaging their brains Terri doesn't need to hear negative things and no one here is stupid but have they not read Bella's story she has survived worse things by humans themselves so is quite clearly a strong girl and after all she has been through in her past quite capable of surviving being in the wild and nature itself. Maybe they could put their energy into putting posters up lol. X
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Terri, I'm so sorry to read on your posts that some people are saying that Bella will not have survived this long out on her own. I can honestly assure you that most dogs can and do survive for this long and even longer. You should be realistic to a point as some dogs do have accidents on roads/railways but that's not usually the case so there's no need to be pessimistic.
It's most likely that Bella has found herself a nice cosy spot hidden away from anyone who is out looking for her but is coming out at night to find food and water. Please have another read through our advice email and make sure you have used all the relevant suggestions. I think you probably have as you have bee doing literally everything.
Please double check with all the vets and Dog Wardens (Lewes, Eastbourne & Animalwardens) again. Also any dog rescues and kennels in the area just in case they have picked her up but not scanned for a microchip. Most do but we have known one or 2 who do not.
Come on Bella, please show us where you are as it's really time to go back home now girlie. Last edited: 2017-08-28 08:43:12 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

I have been going out early mornings for ages. I have been focusing on Hoddern Farm walking up the private road from Piddinghoe and then a again walking from Firle Road across and around all the fields, Along the southern flint wall boundary of the farm provides a good place to shelter. Have posters arrived because could definitely do with more going up in that area. Also in the yard. I wonder if a good pair of binoculars would be helpful if she was to come out of hiding? Just a thought. Bless her X
Terri
Thank you so much Rikki and Pip for all that you are doing you both have been a god send!! I can confirm that the only 2 phone numbers that are to be used are the 2 on the dog lost poster, if there is a sighting please contact those numbers immediately and I will get to the location. Thank you all for your support and help in trying to get Bella home.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks Rikki and pip, that's great and no problem if posters are black and white as long as they have the correct telephone numbers on them.
Terri has made Bella a group page so if you are local and can help please join https://www.facebook.com/groups/486352085061030/?ref=group_header
The Argus have put a short article in their paper (Thank you to The Argus)

When posters arrive I can help to put them up Or to hand them out. am going out each day for an hour or so looking. She is on my mind.
pip
Went and put some more posters up in Epinay park, Cripps ave, bus stop on pelham rise. They are a bit sparse up there and the ones I've put up are A5 black and white and not all in wallets but anything is better than nothing and when the new ones arrive I can go and replace. Was nice to see people going to read them as they went up it shows people are interested and care. Spoke to a couple of people who were surprised to hear she hadn't been found yet so hopefully the word will go out she's still out there and more eyes will be watching out. COME ON BELLA!Last edited: 2017-08-24 18:54:57 by pip

Do hope you get a sighting soon , being small she can hide more easy. Please People if anyone wants to help have a scout around but if you see her contact the owners straight away, dont call or try and catch her. xx
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for your update Terri. Yes, it's hard work keeping up with Tiga and I admire your determination to carry on regardless!
Re your comment on Bella's Fbk page:
Would everyone please note that the 2 telephone numbers on this page are the ones to contact if you see Bella.
This will ensure that sightings will be following up immediately. Thank you.
(Any other numbers on Fbk posters have NOT been authorised by Terri)
Terri
Thank you all so much for your help!! Pip and Rikki have done an amazing job between them and added more posters around which has been a huge help. Jenny (K9 tracker) and the very gorgeous tiga came out yesterday and we have managed to pin point some areas to focus on. I was out the whole night watching and looking for a sighting but unfortunately we didn't have any luck, I will be doing the same again tonight but with more eyes hopefully so we can cover a larger area as we know Bella has got to go and find food at some point and that's when we are hopeing to get a sighting. I am exhausted after following Jenny and tiga yesterday and I am in pain today (honestly I don't know how Jenny does it) but that is not going to slow my efforts down. As soon as I find her tonight I will update everyone with the good news. So far I have said tonight's the night every night but tonight really is the night I am getting my baby back!!! Thank you all so much for what you are doing for me the support has been overwhelming and I am so so grateful!
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Hi Jenny, I can't thank you enough for coming and helping Terri today. I'm sure you will have seen how much Terri has been doing and how she will not be giving up until she finds little Bella. I heard how Tiga was a super star as he always is!
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Clarkey - yes Terri is very tired after following Tiga today! but is determined to carry on with new vigour. Tiga again excelled himself today. Please can you only call Terri if you have a sighting. Last edited: 2017-08-22 18:29:48 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker

Hi again Rikki and pip. I've just spoken to Terri who has had a long day out searching.
Please would you text Terri on her number (07534 180074) including your name and if you do not get a reply to your text please call her before you go out again later on. There are a couple of new places that we would really appreciate you taking posters to please. Thank you.

Terri is very tired and is getting a lot of calls which are hampering her search a little so please be patient with her as it really is hard going at this stage of a search. Thanks.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Rikki and pip, that's really good of you. Yes, smaller (A5 size) posters are good for posting through letter boxes and giving to people that you meet whilst out walking. Always good to have a poster in your car window as well.
You may well see Terri out in the fields today as she'll be there most of the day. It is quite possible that Bella will try to make her way home even after being out for nearly a week. If you want to ask Terri where she would like posters to go through doors please text her on the number above. Thanks again for your help. You are very welcome I'll be popping out in a while again so yes may see you. Goodluck and fingers crossed for you and your special helper. X
RIkki
We have had a good look around and posted some posters through doors. I am going to make some more, perhaps smaller to hand out and will go back up this evening. Keep positive. I am certain she will turn up. Is she likely to head for home? Often they do. She is there somewhere!
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thank you Rikki and pip. After a couple of chats I've had with a rather special lady, Terri has some other help today as well. I will let her update you when she has a chance! Let's hope the weather is kind to you all.
Terri
Omg thank you both so much for doing this it's amazing I will be out in the fields all day as well so I may see you.
pip
Cool see you at the cafe at 10.
RIkki
Cafe would be best as it where I know. I will be there T 10.00 with posters in my hand!
pip
Hi Rikki, I'm literally round the corner from cissbury so I can either meet you at the bottom of cissbury by the field or the cafe at 10am?
RIkki
I have printed 20 copies. I will be driving up to Cissbury Avenue this morning and the park (at about 10.00) I can either post through houses myself but as I am not sure exactly where Bella went missing can't be sure I am targeting the right area. Or I could be at the cafe at 10.00 with posters. I have a black lurcher and a little beige and white cross-breed.
RIkki
Pip I am happy to print some posters. I can do it this morning but need a way of getting them to you. I was intending to take my dogs to the big park anyway. How many do you think we will need? I live in Newhaven and not sure where Cissbury Avenue is but can definitely find it. M
pip
Just back from another wonder round the field by Cissbury ave. There's alot of under growth behind the large house on the corner I think needs checking out in daylight could be anything but a few noises of movement in there tonight plus it's extremely quiet on that corner at this time. Also while out in the same field this afternoon I came across a lady sat just outside her back garden backing onto the field so I told her and she didn't know so maybe we could put some posters through the doors of these houses. I don't have a printer but if someone can get them printed I can go posting.Last edited: 2017-08-21 22:59:12 by pip

Thanks Rikki. I know that Terri will appreciate your encouraging words as she's at a bit of a low ebb at the moment. Yes, lost dogs will often be a lot closer than we think, just hiding up and waiting for the right time to make their way home. I'm hoping that as a rescue dog she will stay away from the roads and still be in the fields near where lost. Just need her to show herself again.
RIkki
Dear Terri so sorry to hear about your little Bella. I lost my lurched when she was 8 months old for 2 days. It was a horrible time. But she turned up again and had been hiding near to where she went missing. Lots of sightings but nobody could get near her. Please don't give up hope. I have looked for Bella this morning up at the Big Park and will look again tomorrow. Keep positive. Thinking of you.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for your update Terri. you are doing so well. Good to hear another sighting and so close to home. Got everything crossed that you get your little lady home soon.
Terri
Thank u so much for trying. We was out around there in the rain too. The camera that we set up caught nothing not even a fox and all the food that we laid down was all untouched. It certainly can feel hopeless as it's like a needle in a haystack. Thank you I really hope today is the day!!
pip
We went for a drive round last night for you round by cr allen, end of Firle rd, the big park and down to the field at the bottom of cissbury as I live round the corner from here. Annoyingly it started raining again. Don't loose hope after all its a large area and someone needs to be in the right spot at the right moment to see her so fingers crossed today is the day.
Terri
So after another long day. We had a possible sighting but we don't no for sure the lady just believed it was something small. So I set up a feeding station and a camera ready for tonight and in the morning I will check to see if we have any images of Bella in the morning in the hope to find out if she is in that area. I will update once I know.
Terri
So there was nothing in the camera today only some foxes and a cat that came in to the garden and ate the food. I'm going to go around the cemetery today and the golf course and keep making sure everyone is aware that she's out there somewhere. Iv set more food up in the garden. I will update with any new information.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Thanks for your update Terri. It will be interesting to hear what the camera has caught from last night. You are doing really well with the posters and hopefully they will bring a much needed sightings in for you.
Please make sure that Peacehaven Golf Club house have posters and put some in the car park for all to see. Perhaps ask their groundsmen to keep a look out for Bella as well. I can see on the map that there are several houses at the end of Links Avenue so it would be good to let them have posters too. Basically try and get posters to the roads and places surrounding the fields.

I'm not sure why, other than they are usually very quiet, but lost dogs often go and rest/hole up in cemeteries so do have a search around Newhaven cemetery as it is on the outskirts of the fields. There are a few houses there too so maybe posters to them so they are aware Bella's lost.
I know you have been searching and not sleeping or eating well Terri. Please try to get some rest as you really need to 'recharge your batteries' so you can keep thinking straight. You're doing everything you can to find Bella so just keep that you and ask for help when you need it. Best of luck with your search today. Terri
So last night I set up her crate with her bed and plenty of food in there and did a scent trail. The food was gone by 5am but we are unsure what ate it but tonight we will do the same but we have been loaned a motion camera so by the morning we should know if she is coming back here for food. We have put 100 posters out today and put them in all the sighted areas plus areas around where we live and possible places she could find her way to. Please keep sharing.

Bella has been with Terri for 2 weeks. She ran off when a man came running towards her on the walk and scared her.
Terri has been out searching all night and is doing all the right things. The early hours sighting of Bella was very near to her home.
Please keep sharing and looking for Bella.
Nectardog
Hi.Is she wearing a collar and tag or harness. How long is it since she left the rescue?
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
I'm sorry to see that Bella has gone missing. I've sent you our Doglost advice emails and shared to my pages on Fbk. I can see that Brighton Dogwatch have already put a post about her on their page (thanks BDW)
I see that you have said Bella was seen in the early hours in the fields again which is great as she has not gone too far away from where lost.
The most important thing is to get as many posters up as soon as possible as that's the way that you will get sightings coming in. When anyone calls to report having seen Bella please make a note of where, when (time) she was seen & ask which direction Bella was going in so you will find out where she is travelling to/from.
I've adjusted the photo so that it is correct for the poster page and added one fm your Fbk page to show her markings (hope that's ok Terri) You may have to refresh/reload the page to see them.
Please keep us updated about any new sightings and as to how your search is going.
Very best of luck, hopefully Bella will be home soon
