Was searching for Katie in the red & sooo happy to see her in the blue! Been a bit busy with sick mum for the last week so hadn't done anything useful and delighted she made her own way home - clever Katie! xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So pleased Katie has returned home. I'm a "new recruit" living in the South West, - joined a few days ago after Dixon (11 yr old labrador/springer) disappeared from our village. Dixon has thankfully been found. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so happy to see this lady as made her way home. We know how difficult it can be to catch anything as fast as lurchers/grayhound. She's such a cutie. Please get new tag for her & good to see she's none the worse fior her adventure.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Katie and Prince are lying very closely together on their dog bed. Prince is resting his head on her stomach, obviously as pleased and relieved to have her back as we are. Normally he is not that affectionate to her, in fact, he usually ignores her! Katie is sleeping, exhausted no doubt. She's had her dinner, ravenous poor girl. Thanks to ALL the people who work for and help DogLost - Mollychops, Reynard and other volunteers included. We'll be sleeping well tonight.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She has just come HOME!!!!!!!!!!! Nose pressed against the garden door, very wet, without coat and collar but safe and sound! A bruise on her left haunch but otherwise fine. My partner is drying her off and giving her some food. Thank you, thank you! Thank you all so very much. She's safe again. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dear Greylady, it's a long stretch of road - between 1 and 3 miles out of Marlborough. Sadly no news of her since then. It's pouring with rain, it's pitch-black and it's going to be a very windy night. I just hope my little Katie baby is alright!?!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wow Tanja that was quick!! How far away was the sighting the police gave you away from where she slipped her collar? There are so many people looking for Katie now so hopefully there will be some more sightings soon. Well done for all your hard work xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Tanja - Katie's owner Thank you for all your kind messages and help! We hope to have her back safe and we feel much more positive knowing you are all trying to find her. Katie was wearing a Maroon tartan kennel coat at the time she disappeared last night. She may have lost it by now. She should still have her red and white house collar on. We contacted the local vets in Marlborough and Pewsey last night, the Police were also informed and we have left message for the dog warden in Devizes. We have put up Katie's poster around Marlborough and notified our neighbours and other dog owners walking on the Common where Katie and her 'brother' Prince go every day. We have spoken to as many locals we could find walking around last night, and have given Katie's details to Police officers driving around last night. We are now going to put up posters at the local police station, email posters to the local vets and put up a poster in the lobby of Marlborough Golf Club which is situated on the Common. Next we will be contacting the Council's Highway Department. Our neighbours are helping us look. Last night, less than two hours after her disappearance, the Police called to say that they have had a sighting of her on the A346 from Ogbourne St George to Marlborough, then in her kennel coat. We've placed 'smelly' food around the outside of our house and garden, she has a shelter waiting for her. People are keeping a lookout. Thank you so much for your help.
