- If the tortoise has been stolen - needs to be reported to Police..and put posters up as thieves will try and sell it. .also check all the selling adverts in papers and social media...Hope this loved pet is found soon..xx

- Good point as so many missing dogs in lately were found in sheds,under decking etc hiding from the heat and then going to sleep...but have little knowledge of tortoises.

- Are you sure this spur thighed tort hasn't dug itself in, somewhere under plants to get shade, as it was very hot yesterday? Mine used to hide in such heat..
