It's getting worse...Dog theft is a huge market now, yet we only hear about dogs being stolen and nothing at all about what the government and law are going to do about it... These scumbag dog thieves have got a free reign..We need to spread the word and keep on doing so until it is finally acknowledged that our dogs are family members and should be dealt with along the lines of kidnapping!

Campion3. I agree but it would be helpful to know as they clearly targeted this persons dogs and may have gone in search of another similar. A pug has gone missing on a walk in this area.

Mary, although sad to say it, I believe all owners should accept that none of us are immune and any dog is a potential target. This must have been a very frightening experience and even more so that the men then said they would take the dogs anyway. Hope the police manage to trace them.

What sort of dogs does the owner have? It may help know which owners are most at risk from this gang.

So presuming all the dogs are safe at the moment CJ? This area comes under Greenwich borough and Lewisham borough councils I believe, have dog wardens been notified of attempted thefts in the area? I'll await CRN number before sharing?

Same, this happened in Wiltshire DEVIZES. I asked DogLost to put on ALERT but they didn't. Tried 3 times to contact them but only on the fourth attempt I got a reply but no ALERT was issued. I even gave the police incident number. I was told you cannot call it theft, it has got to be called 'alleged theft' as you can get DogLost in trouble and affect any outcome of a case. I totally disagree with this as the comments are not that of DogLost when the this is an open platform for the general public. BEWARE-DEVIZES, WILTSHIRE there have been several attempts of alleged dog thefts in the area. Keep you dogs in your sight all the time. The threat is real...

THIS MATTER HAS BEEN REPORTED TO POLICE AND AWAITING A REFERENCE NUMBER.
Friday 17th owner was followed from Black heath common by 5 men in a navy blue volo estate they had try to snatch her dogs. She manged to get home in Eltham- where they were asking aggressively to buy the dog. Owners husband came out and they said we will be back and get them!
All 5 men were white males wearing high viz jackets. 2 were English 3 may have been Irish.

WATCH OUT when walking your dog in this area. If this vehicle is seen try and get more letters of the reg number.Call 101 Met police. Once i have the CRN i will add this to deatils.
