I have spoken to her owners tonight and let them know she will be in this weeks Countrymans Weekly. Many local walkers have been looking out for her but there have been no sightings or news of her at all and her owner feels sure someone must have kept her. The local gamekeeper has said there have been 'druggies' excercising their dogs in these woods and also travellers in the area so if she has fallen into their hands she could well have been sold on so everyone PLEASE keep a lookout for this beautiful girl turning up in your area ! we took some doglost posters out to owners today and also did lots of walking in the area. Due to the layout of the area which this dog is very familiar with and the fact she has found her way home in the past both the owner and myself feel she would have returned home if she could and has either been taken home by someone or is being prevented from returning home in some other way. Hoping now that the posters and public awareness bring her back to her family who love and miss her so much.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I spoke to owners again this morning and she has been known to do a disappearing trick on several occasions in the past while out on walks but has always found her own way home, usually within an hour or so. When she failed to return home on her own, the owners had someone they know go to the area she went from with tracker dogs but they failed to find any scent trail to follow. We went out there this morning and did some postering, walking and general scouting round the area. We met a local game keeper and he was aware that she is missing and took some of our posters to pass on to show to other people. He mentioned the possibilty that she could have gone down a badger or fox hole and got stuck and I will relay this to the owners tomorrow. BillJ ............ The area of woods she was lost in are at the far right side of Cawthorne Park near to Cawthorne Lane but she could of course have made her way further across to Margery wood. I understand that she is a friendly dog but now she is lost she may be harder to approach. Please remember she is wearing a bue collar and not the one in the photo and please look out for any fox or badger holes Bill. thanks for your help !! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Billj - I have txt Pam- you can contact her via pm if needs be. I know she's delayed a trip to try help look for this lovely dog. I've txt her phone letting her know you walk the woods. Thanks for your help. We know from experience that woods are a nightmare to search. I would suggest going back to where she went missing & scent the area. If it is a regular walk she may find her own way back-luckily we've found out about her quickly & Pam & hubby are tenancious to say the least. Fingers crossed that this beauty is home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have lost my cocker spaniel zak, IP24, unfortunately it is now almost 10 weeks, but why I have written is that I was spending a fortune on paper advts in the lost column, and it was lost between houses and cars...take the word lost out of the advert, replace with missing, and put it under announcements, which are normally on page 2 of local papers, insist on it being an announcement, my thoughts are with you, I know the heartache so well.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Are there any outbuildings in the area that she could be holed up in or any farms that she could have been taken in by? How about contacting local paper to place an advert and giving smaller posters to local paper delivery boys/girls to put in with papers (with a small reward for doing so?).Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows this girl well. Stay safe sweetheart, until you are found x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If it hasn't already been suggested to the owner or they're not already doing so, I'd suggest they keep checking back at the area she went missing from. I've read on here about some dogs returning to the area they last saw their owner. Obviously they could scent trail from that spot. Good luck. Really hope she's home soon xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

have sent photo in to admin. I spoke to the owner last night and she is absolutely devastated at losing this beautful girl. she has postered locally, informed dog wardens, police, walkers and local pounds and has searched and searched the woods. This dog was wearing a blue collar at the time she went missing. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
