Thanks again to everyone. Zuka was found in Winkton after 5 nights out in the freezing cold not in The New Forest after all she was completlety lost and went south after she became disorientated. We found her as a gamekeeper was asked to go and look at a tree on a housing estate in Winkton and the builders commented there was a GSD haning around. I had previously contacted the gamekeeper on the 1st day as Zuka disappeared near his home at Holmsley. It was a chance encounter and somehow fate intervened and he got a call as he fells trees it just so happens he kept my number. We have learnt from this experience to talk to everyone you possibly can in the area your dog/cat etc. disappears and carry on talking and communicating with everyone if they see or hear anything to please contact you. We consider ourselves very lucky and so does Zuka woof woof. Abig thank you to Doglost too.

I am so pleased if this is right. Scotty "Dog" Mitchell just tweeted me to ask if Zuka had been found as he had retweeted several times to get the word out in Burley area.

I had a slow drive around last evening, about 10pm went through Burley past golf course to the right is a cross roads, turned right up the single track and over the forest up to A35, then headed toward Holmsley and finally up forest road to burley, effectively a loop around. Went to Holmsley car park and the other car park on forest road. The food left out at holmsley car park was about half a bowl left. No sign of any dogs unfortunately.Last edited: 2017-01-20 10:30:34 by boristhebold

We have walked up at the old quarry at Holmesley this afternoon. There are several places there where people park but there are no posters. As it is very close to the tea rooms and Goats Pen would it be worth putting posters up there and on the cycle route which goes along to the tea rooms?

Thank u everyone 4 helping us so much sorry I haven't msged much but have been out from early in the morning till late at night and my daughters have been concentrating on the social media which is going well with an organised search tonight. Apart from a possible sight which was Tues morn at 7.45am nearer Goatspen car park than Holmsley Tea rooms. We were there on and off most of the day and have informed the Golf Club who are looking out throughout the day they have open carts that are quite low to see in the bushes etc. We rang Holmsley Tearooms they 2 are on the look out. I understand the prinicple of the triangle and feed-station etc. but with Goatspen the only real sighting I cannot form the triangle yet. She has unfortunately not been sighted at Holmsley really not much to go on. However will be out early tomorrow going between Burley golf course and Goatspen. Have alot planned for tomorrow door to door/ putting up more posters looking between bransgore and xchurch as she was sighter on Sun afternoon on the back road - Holmsley going towards Bransgore maybe she kept going and is in Hinton admiral area. We have also searched the Meyrick Estate bur no sign. We pray we get another sighting tomorrow Thank u again Carol

Praying tonights planned search brings Zuka home safely. Come on lovely lady show yourself, your family are missing you x
Svend
Zuka is actually less than 2 miles from where she lives (Burley), so there is a real chance she will find her own way home in the next day or so, as long as she's not spooked or scared away from the area she's in. (The Lymington report seems very unlikely to have been her.) Focus should be on keeping her in the area.Last edited: 2017-01-18 14:57:36 by Svend

If Solent Mews sighting was her, and she's now at Homsley seems as if she's trying to make her way back either home or to place she went AWOL

anyone in the area please keep looking I am sure she is still local to the tea roomsLast edited: 2017-01-18 11:53:24

Apperntly spotted by the Homsley tea rooms yesterday , Owners need to concentrate on that area stay the night if need be just need lots of warm clothing......get a bbq going with smelly sardines tripe etc anything to make the smell go further
Mandy
Are there any tracker dogs who's help you can enlist - if you can track her from where the man saw her you can see if she is moving in a triangle as many dogs do and then put out a trap with food and some of your clothing so she catches your scent? x
