What a wonderful story, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, this goes to show that ?15-20 spent on a chip could be your best investment for a new puppy. Gives a real boost to all long term missing dogs - It could be yours next - fairytales do happen.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We've been to the vets and although he is a little bit thin he has been given a clean bill of health. Hes had a bath and now smells much better than he did. A big thanks to everyone at DOG LOST for all their help and it just shows never give up hope and make sure your dog is chipped cos thats how we have got him back along with the kindness of the gentleman who spotted him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm sure there will be lots of people who remember Alfie. Well after 15 months that special call that Mel was waiting for came and he is home!!!! He was found wandering along a dual carriageway the other side of Leeds to where he went missing. A man who had stopped his car to change his baby's nappy saw him and stopped to help because everyone else was just driving past. He ended up at the vets, scanned and...well you know the rest! He is off to the vets today for a check up but Mel says he's settled back in like he's never been away. Special thanks to the man who stopped and helped this little fella and welcome home Alfie!!! Have a great Xmas with your little man MelLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The rspca have just rung me it wasnt alfie. It wasnt a dog it was a cat the officer who rang me said the lady who found it had been mistaken. The poor thing was inside a pillow case and she thinks had been in there for sometime. Words cannot describe the type of people who can do this it makes me sick!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi the sighting in morley never came to anything. I speak to springfield and marina kennels every day i am sending them a poster also. The police havent been particularly helpful they make it sound like an inconvenience when ive spoken to them and i am just told to keep ringing the kennels or to ring the highways dept. I would be at the kennels everyday but i dont drive. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If owners and helpers can re-poster the area where Alfie went missing, including all vets in the area, as well as owners or someone who knows Alfie should visit the rescue kennels regularly, and not just rely on telephone calls, the kennels have been known to make mistakes. Keep him too hot to handleLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Going out with more posters as a lot of them have been torn down and i am sending a poster with alfies details on to all the vets in west yorks so fingers crossed!!!!! Have just spoken to finders sadly not Alfie, dog is 4 years old, scanned for chip, but registered to previous owners, present owners have come forward and claimed him, half an hour ago. Apparently owners young child left gate open and dog escaped. Stay safe little man xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

finder called me last night (thanks to Jayne) I asked finders of B/T dog to take him along to vet and have him scanned and waiting for them to contact me, if this little chap isn't Alfie and I really hope it is, I have asked finder if he is unable to keep him to contact me and let Humberside CKCS Rescue take him rather than RSPCA or general rescue where he will only be kept for 7 days before being re-homed. We would have to keep him for one month, at least that would give owner a fair chance of finding him.......... but let's keep fingers crossed this is Alfie and for a very happy outcome.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

melr welcome on board DL and thanks for updating on what you have done etc. It does help us and yourself to check Alfie's page and leave updates for helpers, especially any sightings of him. We cannot stress enough the importance of postering as wide an area as possible. Hope to see lovely Alfie in the blue soon. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There appears to be a digit missing in the home number of the owner as shown on here and in the missing poster. Leeds telephone numbers have 7 digits after the 0113, on this you are only showing 6 digits. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Alfie well. Stay safe Alfie, until you are home x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
