Boristhebold it was myself and the Rescue who spotted what we are almost sure was her.I went into the wood and by the bog I crouched down and saw what was either a fox or Janie hiding in a den like place.I couldnt get around to the side fast enough to see if it were one or the other. But it didnt rush and there was only one exit but it is boggy and full of dropped trees , so fell over and got stuck in the bog.But it is just speculation as it was getting dark .On Sunday Julie is almost sure she spotted her .Trouble is all she has to do is drop to the ground and she is hidden.
Thank you all who are helping to look it is a very worrying time xx

Today 7th. Parked in Burbush car park and looked round there especially along the old railway line. Then took dog, crossed Burley/Bransgore road,as I understand this was where she was lost and walked up the track for a mile and half then back next to old railway line. Very quiet so would have heard any barks. Some runners with dogs passed me and ran right over to Crow and back so nothing seen over there. So sorry and hope she's found very soon. Might be worth informing the Fortune Centre in case they ride out that way.

I google mapped area last night & hadn't realised that houses not far both directions of car park. Wondered if Janie could have made it to houses & is hiding there. I'm going up on Friday with posters to put on lamp posts around houses, as occupants may not have dogs, or may not go via the car park. If anyone else is going up before Friday, could you put up posters? Have rescues like HappyDogs been contacted? Not entirely sure of their practices when dogs are handed in. Though Janie microchipped, not unknown for these to be missed.

Had a look this morning, walked through wood to left, no sign and the sausages I left day before were all still intact and inplace on a tree stump. There are a lot of dog walkers im surprised she hasnt been spotted. The person who mentioned spotting her in the woods near the car park are they 100% sure, im not being rude but in those woods there are a dozen or so dear which ive seen on 3 seperate occasions, from a distance one of the smaller ones could easily be mistaken for the dog as very similar colourings (from a distance). Also I doubt the dear would hang around in the area ive seen them in if a dog were loose near them. Good luck with the hunt, may go for another walk in that area at the weekend.

Went back to the area she was last seen walked up into the forest by the left of car park and followed fence line as far as I could eventually coming out on a major road, cirled to right and headed back same way through the forest, unfortunately no sign of her, left 3 freshly cooked sausages on a tree stump on edge of the forest line near car park. Hope she gets found.

So sorry to see that Janie is missing. We would love it if you'd let Hat Trick Productions follow your search for their Lost & Found TV series. Do call Lawrence on 0207 184 6738 for a chat.

boristhebold
I looked in this area today, walked straight from car park about 3pm up to a hill and scanned surroundings with binoculers then walked to left and back to car park, didnt see anuything but some dear and a few other walkers with dogs, however reading other posters comments about the wood to the left which i was in on way back to car park i did hear two single small barks but could not find a dog, i have some time on my hands tomorrow so will heqd back in that area and check it out and yes it is boggy . It may have been some other dog i heard i was whistling occasionaly but thedogs i saw later wernt barking so you never know, will be up there about 10 am tuesday in a silver landrover.

Thank you Ronnie CSS I can try and tell you where I think I saw her.If you park up and walk stright towards the woods with fenced fields on left .Keep walking until you hit a few fallen trees on the right.careful its a bog, and there is like a den in amongst the tree roots on the right .......I thought it could of been a fox but the more I think about it the more I am sure it was not.Just couldnt get around there fast enough as i fell over the roots into the bog .But it is a very good place to hide.I live the other side of Fordingbridge and finding it hard to get there at the moment because of other commitments , but hope, if she is not found , to be there thursday morning.Than you for helpingLast edited: 2016-12-05 19:20:07

has something with a familiar scent been left for her?
RonnieCSS
Thanks Jenny, sadly no sighting. I had a feeling in my waters that I'd find her, all I ended up with was water in my feelings ... I mean boots. Left some turkey in the frying pan that's near the car park. Bit of a long shot, some other minkey will probably eat it. I'll go again tomorrow. Even though there are notices, spoke to three people who hadn't read notices. Perhaps a big sheet with dog lost might be better. I'm working on it. Scott Mitchell our lovely local darts guy retweeted my tweet. He lives between Burley/Bransgore, so hopefully people nearby are more aware. If it wasn't so darn cold out there I'd say it was a lovely place to get lost!

Hya Ronniecss the owwer fell opposite the car park on the other side of the road. But 2 of us are sure we saw her Saturday and Sunday the car park side. When you park look straight across towards the trees where the ditches are .Good luck and thank you x
RonnieCSS
Can Janie's owner give a more specific location of where she fell - as in was it near Burbush car park, or the direction she walked in before Janie ran off. Runaways tend to hover near the last place they lost their owner. I'm going up there today and it might help if I know where to start.

First I would like t osay thank you so much for those who turned up to help before and after 10 you are wonderful caring people. There was another possible sighting by Julie from Pound Puppies. We are sure she is still in the area so owners, Julie and several others are still going to be looking next week.Sadly I cant make it until thursday but hope she will be caught by then..Yes I agree Moocoo not enough posters I have put some out and Julie will be putting more out later today.Once again thank you all even those who were just there for the walks are aware of Janie xx

Moocoo
Went this morning from 8 to half 9 to see if we had any luck before the search party. We (me + dog) found nothing .. It's absolutely bitter and we looked in every gorse bush we passed as I'm sure she's probably caught on something with her harness and lead still attached. There was only one poster that wasn't very visible and said she's been lost in pound land so not ideal.. Can anyone print more posters out and put some flyers on the cars in that car park?!! The area is just so vast everyone in burley needs to be aware xxxx

Everything crossed that Jaine is found safe and well today. Good luck x
