Thank you for all your help and kind words When I next get to see the original owner I will speak to him and see what he wants to do it is hard and sad I must admit but I have taken your kind words on board thank you x
Juls
Very mixed up comments , sad all round , some owners do not have Facebook , Twitter or know this site so can take time to found pet missing , would be nice if both owners could met and maybe see best interst for the dog x x

From what I understand from the comments....he is no longermissing. He was on 'found'section, original didntcome forward and her was rehomed. That is why chipping is so important....and equally important that all vets etc scan animals

Gloria ....on the found one 105776 which is now in the REUNITED section...it refers to Ipswich Borough Council.....I should imagine they would know which Kennels Bobby went to x

Who do I contact for the owner to find out what kennels took Bobby in
Skywalker99
it is very sad...hopefully they can be a happy outcome if the kennels know who they gave him to.

That is correct....dog was found on the 9th october and added to our found dog list...unfortunately we only had the report of the lost dog in a few days ago..our volunteers spend a lot of time listing lost and found dogs in the hope of a match...but we are just a database (albeit an essential one) and we have no ability to interfere in the process of the law or local authorities.

Yes, the date is wrong, this dog was picked up as a stray on the 9th of October and re-homed on the 24th of October.
It was the kennels that contacted me about this sad situation so are fully aware of this.
Skywalker99
So date lost is wrong....he was rehomed on 24th October according to comment on found page. Assume Helen knows which rescue did this? It can not hurt to have a chat with new owners and see if they would give back...but owner needs to understand that he has no right to his dog back.
Doglover
Surely as this dog is an adult and spent most of his life with original owners and only a couple of weeks with new owners if adopted, is it not better for the dog to be in the home he has known.....
Bo
Gloria - Can you find out which rescue rehomed the dog and ask the adopters if they would give back. If not (and I understand why the adopters wouldn't), explain the situation to the old owners and gently suggest they microchip and tag their dog if they ever decide to own another. It's very sad but the system of rehoming strays after they've serviced their 7 days gives the majority another chance. Last edited: 2016-12-04 06:40:12 by Bo

I really appreciate all the time you have put in for this owner all I know is his English is really bad and I don't think he knew who to contact when the dog went missing I spoke to him on Thursday and he was really upset but I am not sure what can be done now to help him?
Gloria
What happens now do I tell the owner about this and will it be too late now for the owner to have his dog back?

Alerts not sent out as yet as this dog was on doglost in the found section on October 9th...and after several weeks was rehomed due to owner not making contact...we do understand owners English is not very good....another reason for chipping your dog...so the authorities can be contacted.

Sorry to see that BOBBY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (108285)
