thank you everyone for your help and concern, I spent two night driving around the area into the early hours only to find he had been locked in one of my neighbours homes! she was the last one we checked as she was never in when we went, she was just in and out and if she had heard him cry she would have assumed it was her cat!i think he heard our voices when we knocked as he began crying, he was hiding behind the T.V I was so relieved, my neighbour was horrified as she couldn't believe he had been in there! and Barney just wanted to go out as in his head he had been locked in for two days,lol...so happy thank you xx

Very early days yet and is neutered so should still be in the area. Check all outbuildings thoroughly, ask neigbours to check theirs too. Put some tuna in his dish, and call him; night/early morning is best. Rattle some treats too. Put something with his scent on into a clean container such as his blanket/bedding/soft toy, along with something with your scent on too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry. Wipe his scent on your gaden fences, gates doors too. Walk around the area holding something ith his scent on, and rattle some treats such as dreamies. Someone may be feeding him Poster around the area, and put "Lost" posters through doors too.
