So pleased Vicar is home. Hope he will be okay after a visit to the vet. You may find that he will now keep clear of the roads now if he has been hit by a car. This happened to a friend whose cat ws hit by a car, He was okay, but he never ventured near the road again. Presume you keep Vicar in overnight? It`s a fallacy that cats can see in pitch black; they cant. But they can see in semi-darkness. Stay close now Vicar. Sending him healing thoughts:-)xxx

Looks like one layed back feline. Presume all outbuildings checked?
Always best to lave scented items in the gaden etc ,Cats rely so much on scent. Neutered cats dont as a rule go too far. They have a territory of about 4-10 vgarden spaces as to where they live. Put some tuna/food in his dish, and call him; night/early mornign is best. Rattle some treats too. Put something with his scent on into a clean continer, such as blanket/bedding/soft toy etc, aloing with something wth your scent on too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors or anything leading up to the house. Walk around the area holding something with his scent on, and rattle some treats such as dreamies. Someone may be feeding him. (Common peoblem) Try a squeaky toy as it may attract his attention. Also warm up some chicken in the microwave as the aroma may help bring him back home. Poster around the area, dn put "Lost" posters through doors too.
Paws xd.
