Date Logged 16/11/2007 By SB can't wait patiently any longer. I think we need a major new poster offensive in north and east London for Sissy, Gerry, Girl and Puppy 2. Can anyone please help poster? It's not so easy for me now, as I have 2 puppies eating the house and weeing everywhere. I work full time, single parent, and am absolutely exhausted as I have a lot of other childcare commitments. Thank you all for looking but please help me poster too. PM me if you can help, as I will update the poster and put Bee ( reunited puppy 1, en1) on it so everyone can imagine what the missing pups look like now. So grateful for any help. I don't know whoever this Rosie W is who has put this malicious post on Sissy's page, but she really needs to do some research before she posts. For your information, my dogs are walked at the very least 5 times per day.  Early morning, mid morning, afternoon, evening and late at night during the week.  More at weekends.  You know nothing about me or my life, or who supports me.  How dare you.  Apologise immediately.   I have spent my entire adult life working for animal welfare and animal rights.  I don't eat animals, don't wear them, and if you knew anything about me, you would know what I have sacrificed for them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Its Halina, we spoke on the phone the other month. So sorry to hear the court case f**ked up, it disgusts me why this country takes nothing to do with dog stealing seriously! People will continue to steal these animals for as long as they see nothing happens to them. I Just pray to god that when we catch the b****rds who stole my babies the courts don't just ;et them off again, then they wonder why people take matters into their own hands. My heart really does go out to you as i feel the same hurt and anger that you have felt throughout this, not a day goes by I don't think about my babies, what they are doing, how they look and if they are being cared for! Be strong and remember to never give up hope, What goes around comes around. Take Care HalinaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Remember she has a chip...one day she will get scanned. You sent me some photos of Bee by email but they were so big I could only jigsaw them.
I can draw.but not humans or animals but have recently drawn some pugs and daschounds...as a favour.
I have 2 staffy/jack russells and over the road lives Tia a mastiff and we see Saffy another mastiff on our walks. But even staffys have different faces, builds, shapes and stances.
I am sure there are better artists out there.Maybe if you posted me some colour photocopies I  could try and do some drawings. I cant seem to do it from the screen...it flickers and is difficult to focus.

I am absolutely devastated to hear today that the Crown Prosecution service will not be offering any evidence in the case of Sissy (and her siblings) theft.  They have so far failed to let me or my daughter know and I only found out when I rang the Court yesterday to find out if the case would be heard today (it was warned for this week).  I spoke to the witness care unit this morning and they confirmed it.  I will apparently be receiving a letter.  I am confused, hurt, disgusted.  At the committal last October, the Judge was quite clear that there was a case to answer, and was surprised that the defendant was pleading not guilty, going as far as to advise her solicitor to have a word with her, given the strength of the evidence (6 puppies seen being loaded into her car by an off-duty police officer and one of the puppies found at her address later that night).  I don't know quite how to deal with the feelings I have right now.  I'm so sorry that Sissy has been let down yet again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I just spoke to the Crown Prosecution Service, who told me that they dismissed the case because (1) they could not get a statement from the owner of the puppies (my ex-friend), (2) they had not established that the dog recovered from the home of the dirty thief was one of the ones missing (this is a load of crap) and (3) they did not have sufficient evidence to prove she knew what she was doing the day the puppies were stolen, even though the dog was found in her house.  The lawyer I spoke to had no knowledge of the additional evidence I have provided to the police and has advised I take the matter up with the borough commander.  Which I will do.  The criminal wins again.  Thanks for nothing, PC D***Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The trial of the person charged with stealing Sissy and her siblings begins next week.  Not sure what day, but I know it isn't Monday.  I will keep everyone informed of what happens.  I just hope this person gets their just desserts and we get justice.  I would gladly substitute justice for my baby back though.  I love you Sissy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have discovered - through my own efforts, the police did not inform me - that the trial of the person charged with the theft of our puppies is warned for the week beginning 13 October 2008 at Wood Green Crown Court, Lordship Lane, Wood Green, London N22 5LF.  This means that the trial could begin any day that week.  I will be taking the entire week off work, as will my best friend Tracie.  She will be there to support me and hold me down if necessary.  Feel free to contact me closer to the date for details.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

SB - I and many others know just how you feel - my beautiful little Lurcher Maggie vanished into thin air last November - everywhere I go I am always willing her to pop up in front of me - I know she couldn't have survived all this time out there on her own - the only way to keep going is to hope that they are loved and cared for even if not by us and that one day we will get them home where they belong.  It's the not knowing that is so hard but we have to think positively and believe that they are alive and happy.  I truly wish you success in your search - GOOD LUCKLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sissy and her brother and sisters have been missing one year tomorrow.  We were lucky enough to get Bee and Gucci back, but I still yearn for my beautiful sweet little girl.  Every day I wonder where you are, how you are and what you look like.  It doesn't get any easier, I'm crying now.  I search for you everywhere Sissy.  I hope you are being looked after, that your tummy is full and that you have someone to cuddle you.  I love you xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It was Sissy's birthday yesterday, one year old and gone for almost all of that.  I didn't post yesterday as I was upset and was also trying to celebrate her sister Bee's birthday as best as possible.  All four dogs had frankfurters and birthday cake.  I can't say how much I wished for Sissy to be there, and to know where she and her siblings are.  Dear Sissy, missing you, Little Boy, Girl and Gerry.  xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still no sightings of Sissy. She's so recognisable - look at the eye patches, the shorts, the patch on her side and the band round her back - dark brindle, not black. Going on what Bee looks like, she will now be the size of a tall, lean Staffie, and if she's like Bee she will have started the mastiff drool. Bee jumps when she starts to run, and will often try to run on her back legs only. I wonder if Sissy does this too? My camera has just turned up after being missing for a while, so I will now be able to send out a new picture of Bee to give everyone an idea how Sissy will look. Anyone out there who could do an artist's impression? Please email me for picture of Bee. I miss you Sissy xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Let me know if you want the poster on here amended or one added in the info centre so that you have them all on one and with a pic of what they would now look like. I will then see if we can recirculate the new poster to local helpers and hopefully that will help you with the re postering.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was at Court this morning with my friend Tracie, there for moral support. I put everyone else off as I had been told by the CPS that it was only a plea. The defendant rocked up an hour and 15 minutes late, showing complete contempt for the Court. Never mind, it gave me time to become acquainted with PC Dunn, who shook the hand I offered him but then gazed at the floor, clearly in embarrassment at the poor job he has done for our puppies. Into Court 4 at Wood Green Crown Court, the defendant was arraigned (burglary and handling stolen goods), and pleaded not guilty. This appeared to astound the Judge, who advised the defendant's counsel to address the somewhat weird situation of the defendant accepting she was at the scene, but not knowing it was a burglary and not taking part. Maybe the puppies answered the door and asked to be rehomed in lovely Tottenham. Indeed, the Judge did not appear impressed at all, particularly upon hearing that the defendant has a string of convictions for dishonesty. Whereas the defendant previously had unconditional bail, he imposed a condition of residence. The trial will not take place until ...... wait for it.......October 2008. Doesn't matter, I can wait. If I can wait as long as it takes for the puppies to come home, then I can wait to see justice done. I will post the trial date when I know it. I kept my head this time, and my dignity, despite some murmurs as we left Court. All I want is the puppies to come home. I keep looking, and will never ever give up. Thank you for all your kind messages. Keep looking for Sissy, Gerry, Girl and Puppy 2, Little Boy, whose life I saved on the day he was born and whose life I would love to be involved in.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just been reading this, why not get BT to block calls to your phone that are dialled from a withheld number, then if they want to give you abusive calls they will have to show their number (bet the calls stop then). If it is a mobile number they are calling speak to the provider (Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile etc) and I am sure if you explain what has been happening they will be able to help. Same with e-mails if you get them, they can be blocked and also traced. If you speak to the police it can be recorded as malicious communication and they have to do something about it. Good luck in court and I hope you are the winner in the end. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Jayne Two very clear sightings at Walthamstow Central tube station. Not sure which of the puppies as the message didn't specify, but she did say that she saw a puppy that she was sure was one of ours with 2 young black girls on Tuesday. She admired the pup and asked what cross it was. They told her pit bull/ american bull. The caller was sure it was not and called and left a message immediately. Saw them the next day and was even more sure the puppy was one of the ones in the picture. I'm guessing Girl. I'm now getting threatening phone calls.''e mail from owner. Hi Sally you done well because a lot of us on here would not have been able to restrain ourself like you did, this women will come un stuck and she will not get the sympathy of the court like you would have done by standing up and asking her. she will have to let you know sooner or later these people will make a mistake and you will win the day, this goes with out saying hold in there because I know you will and we all admire they way you have held on to all this and is still there. Good luck keep your chin up. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am sure the technology is there if the will is there for the police to act on these calls. Threatening behaviour is an offence and its anonymity makes it all the more unsettling for the recipient. I would have thought any additional offences should only strengthen the case against these low life.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sally, sorry things didn't go quite as smoothly as you wanted, I am sure there is no-one who reads this story that does not feel empathy for you (except the thieving scum that take our dogs but I suspect they can only read easy words of one syllable). You must make your friend speak to the Police otherwise you are missing out on getting confirmation. When my son upset a bloke after stepping in to help a woman who was being beaten the chap was ringing his mobile, the Police said they couldn't do anything about it, an officer friend suggested getting another phone and leaving his original phone in the hands of the Police. Guess what after 3 calls it all stopped.Too late, technology has come a long way and the chap was arrested. So keep hanging in there Sally. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sally, I'm just catching up on your latest news and I think you are an amazing lady to stand up in court and confront that person - I wont call her a lady as no female wants to be associated with her! I think that both you and the owner of the puppies mother should get onto BT as they have a service whereby if an abusive call comes in you can hit a number afterwards and a trace is put on the line - I used this service a few years back when I had a death threat sent to me -I'm still here so it worked!! Chin up, things are happening now and for the good. Just remember that these epople will get their come uppance eventually, I'm a great believer in what comes round goes round. If the way to heaven is over the Rainbow Bridge (as we all hope0 then these people will NEVER pass so the only way is down for them! Elaine xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry, forgot to add I would prepare yourself for them to ask for a postponement of the court hearing, as 23/10 is half term and I suspect this will be used as an excuse as they have already tried it on todayLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I agree that it is very important that you record any of these calls - I presume 1471 shows number withheld? If nothing else, it will help with voice recognition of the caller. This is intimidation and as such should be reported to the police immediately, who can get more information on the caller via your service provider. Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry but get the police rung or get a recorder on your phone- even one of the cheap dictaphones- this may be the proof you need to stop this women getting away with it-this is harassment. Police have the power to trace the calls- give them enough grief that they do something about it. Good luck in getting your pups backxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So glad to see so many in the blue over the last couple of days, and I find myself wondering will our little guys ever join them? I will never, ever give up, but am I going to be stalking the streets with my posters in months, or even years' time? The thing that scares me is that they were so tiny when they were taken. No microchips, no tags, nothing. They will probably have learnt new names now and forgotten us. I hope wherever they are, they are safe and looked after, and that they are not being ill-treated. It feels like looking for a needle in a haystack, and right now it feels so hopeless. When I get to sleep, which isn't often, I'm having weird puppy dreams. My house is a tip. I can't concentrate on much other than this site. Don't know what I would do without it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoke to a good friend of mine who lives in some flats in Chingford who informs me that her dog loving neighbours who have 3 puppies between them had their flats raided and their puppies taken from them while they were questioned by police as to where they got these puppies from. What a small world we live in. Its a shame i didnt know the address as i believe i could have saved you 11 days of heartache. Where have you postered as i didnt see any posters up from Walthamstow dog stadium all the way up Chingford mount past the shops and past the cemetary and none down Chingford avenue?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just got back from an evening out postering more of Tottenham and Edmonton. Think I've done every other telegraph pole. Th Ebay advert may be working. XXXXXXX POSSIBLE SIGHTING XXXXXXX. I had a call from a man today who reports he has seen a puppy looking just like Gerry, SISSY'S sister. He saw the ad on Saturday night, and on Sunday morning was at a car boot sale in Chelmsford. Saw a puppy he was sure was Gerry with a middle-aged couple. Said she looked well cared for. He spoke to them, admiring the puppy and asked where they got her. The woman blurted out that her son had found the pup wandering in the street in London. Observant man then said to the couple that he was sure the pup was one of a stolen litter he had seen on Ebay. At that, the man said "bo....ks" and pulled the woman away. The man followed them to their car and took the number plate. Anyone know this couple? New white and brindle puppy, blue Toyota Celica. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, all those Doglost people in the Chelmsford area, pm me for the new poster, and begin postering.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone, so glad to see the news about Lenny coming home after 2 years, it gives me hope....but I don't want to wait that long. I hope that we can saturate East London and Haringey, esp Tottenham, with posters. Can I ask you all, please, please, please get postering. I am getting frantic and so desperate. I have a new poster put together by a Doglost person, which has more information, new pictures of all pups and a pic of the recovered puppy to give people an idea of how the pups might look now. If you want to use this poster, please pm me with your email address. SISSY AND HER BROTHER AND SISTERS NEED YOUR HELP.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sally, you must be devastated. It's not your fault at all! If the police had pulled their finger out sooner then this would be behind you. You must forget it for now and get on with the search. Get those posters out, perhaps with a new photo of the puppy that you have so that we all know what to look for - they grow so quickly at that age. Word will get around that the police have pulled people in under who were under suspiscion and a new poster campaign will enforce to point that you mean business. Keep strong. What a terribly disappointing outcome for you, Sally, you must be devastated. Small thing to come out of this is you can now put those three pups out of your mind, knowing that you have seen them close for yourself, and that they are definately not yours. If you can send me a poster with the photo of all the pups on it I will put some up for you. I live in East London. Hope those little pups are being well cared for.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sally, I have followed this posting from the begining but not posted because I am too far away to be of any use . I just wanted to say my heart goes out to you and your family. The scum bags who stole your puppies and are putting you through hell, should be strung up by their balls. Try to stay focused and you will get them back eventually, just hope it's soon for all your sakes. Take care.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Didn't get to my bed last night, just dozed on the sofa. Too much running through my head. What to do now? I am still sure that Tottenham and East London hold the key to our puppies' whereabouts. Can I ask that all of you round about these areas, and indeed anywhere in London, please poster again, and again and again. Does anyone know someone who would be able to do artist impressions of how the puppies will look now, based on their sister Gucci? Please, any vets in your area, let them have posters. Surely these puppies will have to visit a vet soon? We will get SISSY and her brother and sisters back!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I also saw Panorama, and what a vile business it highlighted. It hasn't changed much from 1984, when I was campaigning against it, and the thugs just get greedier and uglier - inside and out. At low moments, I fear that our puppies will get caught up in something like that, but all I can hope for is that whoever has got them is looking after them.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sally I and a lot on this site tonight have been watching a program on BBC1 about the scum that are breeding bit-bulls for frighting, the film was unbelievably to watch, but there was a reporter who had taken her life in her hands to bring this to the public attention and also the authority's over here. What you have done is not made you look foolish but have shown people that you have to stand up and be counted and you did this by pursuing the police to take some action, and it payed off at least they did in the end do something even if it was not the right result for you, and I'm sorry for that, But by you doing this it will help other and just maybe get the bloody law to listen to us dog owners. God bless you and your time will come to get your dogs back don't give up we won't we are here for you. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh Sally, my heart goes out to you. All you wanted were your babies back. Had the Police checked things out in the first place things could have been cleared up in days, instead all it has done is cause a lot of heartache. Please don't feel foolish, you have followed your heart. I know you wont give up on your little ones, hopefully very soon you will get a lead that will come to fruition, I know this is hard to deal with but you have to be strong. Oh Sally you poor thing. You have not made a fool of yourself at all, if I go tomorrow and the dog I've been kicking such a stink up about isn't Rosie then so what? We want them back and if people were more compliant in the first place we wouldn't have to turn into hysterical loonies for us to identify our dogs. Don't give up Sally and don't ever think your a fool, the police will have had far worse people than you to deal with. Take Care Jo xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a terrible disappointment for you after all your efforts that these did not turn out to be your puppies, I feel so sorry for you but as you say if the police had acted in the first instance this would not have been so harrowing for you as your time could have been better spent looking elsewhere. I do hope you can find a new lead very soon, these puppies cannot be kept hidden forever and there are many people watching out for them. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just spent a heartbreaking 2 hours at Edmonton and Enfield police station viewing and ruling out 3 puppies that I was so certain were ours. Virtually all their physical characteristics matched our pups, other than the fact that one bitch would have had to be a dog to be ours. We know the ones we saw today all came from the same litter, so they couldn?t have been ours. We are devastated. I was sure ? 150% sure - that they were ours, but I was wrong. I usually don?t mind being wrong, but this time it really hurts. At first I felt a fool ? but having given it some thought, I?m not. I fought ? we all fought ? for what was right, and for the police to take us seriously. I hope they don?t think I am a fool too. I?m sad that 3 little pups spent hours in kennels ? and that is down to me. I am sorry that their owners were arrested. I want to thank officer Nick Miller, for his respectful approach and for treating me so courteously. I also want to thank Borough Commander Simon Thomas for finally making things happen, and I want to apologise to Paul Dunn for the rude emails he apparently got however, I still believe that had he taken me more seriously at the beginning we could have cleared this up more quickly and less painfully. Having said all that, I still believe that dogs need better laws, and I am certain that all of us who are grieving for missing dogs will feel that too. I want to thank the very special person who did so much to try and reunite us with our puppies ? you know who you are, and you should not feel bad that it didn?t happen. You tried, and you were right to do that. I very much appreciate it. I hope that more people like you come forward and that we have more luck. I want to thank Doglost and all you helpers - you are absolutely fantastic. For now, there is still an empty space on my bed for Sissy, and her brother and sisters are terribly missed. We carry on looking, and one day we will find them. Keep postering, and don?t forget SLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is absolutely disgusting. My heart goes out to the owner it must be so devastatingly frustrating & heartbreaking. Having read the posts, clearly, not only has theft occured but criminal damage caused as well. I cannot believe the police are so callous and inept. Our council tax pays their bloody salaries. They are becoming a useless commodity. If they had half a brain, they would realise they are making themselves redundant by not responding to crime!! as we the tax payers just might one day feel they dont deserve our hard earned pennies to pay them to do sod all. This is Cate, Mabel and Flash's owner....Just skimmed through these messages while I'm poster-printing/laminating, so sorry if repeating a viewpoint. I know someone who knew where her dog was, and told the police she and some mates were going to get it, and they didn't care that they were advised not to, to wait for them, (the police) etc. I think the police were scared of the thieves. Rather trigger happy apparently. Anyway, as my friend was going in mob-handed regardless, the police decided to go with them. Imagine the stink if someone'd been injured and the police were seen not to have been co-operating? I don't know if you have some devil-may-care mates or if it's your kind of thing, but sometimes it's worth calling the police's bluff. They're useless here too, and I live in the supposedly "civilised" South East countryside! No interest in Rural Crime of any description. Lots of lip-service but no action. I'm so sorry about your pups.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do the dog robbers live in privately owned housing or council or under a social landlord or housing association....????(Recently some council houses have been transferred to be housing associations) If they live in a council house or housing association house get in touch with their social landlord and make an official complaint. The threat of eviction is there for those who act in anti -social ways. Dont give up with the police/MP and start mentioning about council tax that you and all your family pay...multiply it and it works out to be a lot. I'm sure also that the police would act completely differently if one of their police dogs pups were stolen.Stay strong.....dont let them grind you down.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've just read through all these messages and its heartbreaking as well as the fact that its so frustrating. Keelah, when Rizla was missing and we knew where he was and the Police wouldn't do anything, in my desperation I rang Crimestoppers a couple of times and each time they told me they couldn't do anything and that I had to speak to the station dealing with it or if I saw him out and about then ring 999. I sympathise with you Sally, the Bedfoprdshire police in our case were as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. I'm a bit further afield in Luton but will certainly look out for them both here and when I'm in Tottenham, Enfield etc, which will be next week. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

sally. at the end of the day you are a crime victim. you have a right to know the progress of your case and, so far, have been blocked every step of the way. you do not have the right to know the name of the person charged in relation to the burglary but the media do? you have to play the guessing game and attend court every day so you can track down the case and offender and be there to see justice being done? You have to put yourself in danger. I would go straight to the complaints procedure - not an inspector who calls you when he feels like it, comes round, says there there and then leaves again, but an official police complaints form/ I would go to victim support as well. I would also get people to ring crimestoppers re the whereabouts of the puppies. All calls to crimestoppers come into a specialist department in the police, liaison officers, employed by crimestopppers but part of the police force intelligence unit, comprise this. all calls are detailed and logged as intelligence, in turn, they are then passed to the officer in the case of the crime or incident the caller has phoned with intelligence on. I would not advocate or suggest daily calls to them, but you ring and every other person who also knows - ie has been with you and seen the pups in the address - ring as well. that will be at least four concrete calls of evidence to crimestoppers all going directly to the officer in the case.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How absolutely awful for you. Like everyone else, I am so bloody frustrated by the actions (or should I say inactions!) of the police. We have a similar problem here in Beckenham regarding Samson, the reunited Staffie. We know the name, age and address of the young woman (and more!) who took Samson and we have now heard of at least one other brindle Staffie who has been 'sold on' by this person. Likewise, our police ('main' police at Bromley and Safer Neighbourhoods police) DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. What can we do?!! We are lucky in that Samson has been reunited but what about the other dogs she's presumably still nicking and selling on? Sally, I so hope that by doing what you are doing (being persistent, not giving up and being a bloody pain in the backside to the police) that your tenacity will pay off very soon. Good Luck and fingers crossed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Each Police Force is organised and run by a Police Authority. These have Councillors and representatives of the public on them. Do contact the local representative [ details of the Police Authority website] and ask that dog theft is taken seriously. theft is taking with 'the intention to deprive' - and stealing puppies is exactly that! I also feel that the issue needs to be raised, perhaps by Jayne, at a Conference of Police Officers, such as the Superintendents Association. Perhaps an approach to Jackie Smith the new Home Secretary might be worthwhile. She is MP for Redditch and apart from being a woman is very 'hands on' I think.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm feeling so low and so desperate tonight. The police are now rejecting my emails and I can only deduce from this that they are no longer interested in serving justice and are protecting the criminals that have the puppies. It seems from their inaction that they really are serious I will have to take out a civil case. I will do that if I have to, but I am terrified that the puppies will be disposed of. How can they stand by and allow these people to keep them, when they cannot prove they bought them legitimately? I so want to go and get the pups myself, but there are very good reasons for not doing so. There are several officers worth emailing. Simon Thomas, Gavin Martin, Ian Marsden, and of course Paul Dunn, the officer 'in charge'. All in this format Simon.Thomas@met.police.uk or Simon.Thomas@met.pnn.police.uk. Simon Thomas is the acting borough commander and on Friday he asked Gavin Martin to call me to 'deal with' this matter. It has not been dealt with. All we want is 2 hours from a few officers, just to see if these are our puppies (we're as sure as we can be from a distance that they are). RSPCA not able to do anything, it's ouside their remit.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have now done the RSPCA thing over again, with some very useful help from sheepdoglady. They are promising action. Had yet another call today from yet another police inspector (Parsons), who looked at the file and pronounced that he was satisfied lots of work had been done on it. THEN WHY DON'T I KNOW ABOUT IT? However, he also said that the last entry on the file was 21 August. That's 4 days ago. Truth is, they've done nothing that didn't fall into their lap.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This morning I was called by both the complaint inspector and another inspector at Edmonton, who was asked to call me by the borough commander. The complaint inspector was not terribly helpful as he again referred me back to the officer in charge - PC Paul Dunn, who has now gone on leave until Tuesday. I explained that we are at the point of going to get the pups ourselves. He wished me luck with this. The 2nd inspector was more concerned about the situation and has said he will call PC Dunn at home. However, he still spoke about resources. Bloody resources. I am prepared to go and knock on the doors of the people who have the pups, but 2 things are a concern, firstly, I believe that these people may be violent - I'm not fussed about that personally, but I don't want others put at risk secondly, and this is my bigger concern, that if they won't let us see the pups, they will then be alerted and move them on. Then we will have to start all over again. I'm tearing my hear out here.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I just spoke to the crime management unit at Edmonton. They tell me that the warrants are written out, have been submitted to the Court and that they are awaiting their return. Apparently this was done on Monday. This is NOT what I was told by PC Dunn on Tuesday. Why the lack of information? This week I must have rung the police 150 times. Different sections, teams, squads, officers. Much of the time the phone just rings and then cuts off. Other times I have been fobbed off. It has taken a chance call at 6.30am to get some information. I have informed them that puppy two appears to have a serious worm infestation - his tummy looks hard and distended. The officer I spoke to suggested I call the RSPCA. We did that at the beginning, and their helpful and encouraging advice was "you're never going to see them again". So I shall try again later.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You might have already done this, but if not, have you tried going to one of the local papers and doing a feature? i live nearby and when my dog Neps went missing last year we managed to get the Enfield independant to do a feature on him, luckily we found him so it never went to press, tho i think it works better than an ad at the back in the lost and found as more people read, and if they've been re-homed then if anyone has seen a dog that looks like them, then they might hopefully come forward. i saw one of the posters when i was in enfield town earlier today, the police are so frustrating - when neps went missing they were totally useless - even tho countless people phoned in with sightings it took them 3 days to tell us and by then he'd moved on, we caught up with him eventually but no thanks to the police! They even faxed a found form to battersea by mistake so he was crossed off their register so if he had been taken in there he'd have been sold on. Just sickens me how useless and uncaring the police are. really hope you get them back eventually tho XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Strange how fortune chooses to shine. As you might know, I was so tired while posting last night that I gave an incorrect email address for helpers to politely request the police take our case seriously. A friend of mine used that address, and when it came back, decided to play around with the spelling to see if it worked. The email landed in the inbox of a Detective Inspector in the Lewisham murder squad. Well, they must all have their weapons in storage at the moment, because this particular DI (gotta be a dog lover) took the time to email PC Paul Dunn and DS Rob Murray at Edmonton about the matter. Let's all keep those fingers crossed. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I still can't sleep although I am absolutely knackered. I am obsessed with going through the reunited pages as I hope to gain strength from it. I came across the story of Roxs, who was stolen, sold on and re-chipped. Owners had to go to Court to have him returned. Why were the police so utterly gormless then? Why are they so slack now? Are we going to have to go through something similar to get our puppies back?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so sorry. In my frazzled state of anxiety and fatigue - not sleeping too well at all - I gave you the wrong email address (and name!) of the officer in the case. His name is Paul, not Mike. Don't know where that came from, just know I'm so tired. Try Paul.Dunn@met.police.uk or Paul.Dunn@met.pnn.police.uk. The Simon Thomas address is correct. Thanks, and once again, so sorry for wasting your time.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Strange! My emails to Mike Dunn all bounce back saying that I have sent offensive material - I can assure everyone it is a friendly email! I assumed it was the word 'dog' in the title box and changed it to 'pet' but still they bounced back. I sent same message to Borough Commander and they went through though, so hopefully someone had the message. Bouncing emails is a clever ploy when people dont want to reply! Hi Sally, if you are going approach the press, please contact the Walthamstow Guardian if you have not already done so. They done an article on Tintz last week who has now been found. A long complaint has gone into the Borough Commander of the police tonight. Local and national press were copied in, as was head office of Doglost. I expect to hear back tomorrow. Obviously the only way is forward to get your babies back. Damn police. See , if like has been said you can get this into the papers. The police have to be shamed . They are the ones breaking the law by not recovering stolen goods. This really makes my blood boil. Stay safe sweeties. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Get the press on your side and do what you have to do. Deal with the consequences later. If you have a careful record of everything you do (preferably with the press in tow) and the Police are not interested (until you break the law- which up until now you thought you had it on your side!) then sod it. Just as a point of interest if a Police Officer reported his dog stolen and someone told then where their dog was what do you think they would do?. Be strong, be persistant and most of all claim back what is legally yours. Take care now. stay safe puppies help is on the way. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I've recently signed up to doglost. I've just been scanning through the freeads on www.freeads.net and I've spotted an advert for an 8 week old black & white staffy pup for sale. The advert says they are only selling her because the person has been offered a job and its long hours - it's in Hayes, Middlesex. I am guessing it's probably not one of the dogs but I always worry when I see an advert like that. Best of luck with finding the dogs. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

In contract the seller wouldn't have good title to sell the puppy (contract is civil though). Plus the seller would be selling stolen property....so are the police saying if the purchaser purchased the puppy in good faith believing the seller had the right to sell, it's a civil matter? Interesting to know how the purchaser came to buy the pup...in a pub ect. I know what I would do if it was my pup, such an awful position for the puppies breeder to be inxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Something similar happened in the Swanley area before last Christmas. The whereabouts of stolen dogs were known and police would not act. The local press were informed and they wrote up a front page article - this shamed the police into acting as they were told the article would be in the paper that same week. I believe it was 12 dogs recovered. Jenni was involved in this (Mikka). So ring your local papers and tell them you are going in to get your dogs as the police are not helping you. Invite them to cover this. Once its arranges go tell the police what is happening. Good luck. Elainexx http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/stolendogs/ Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

PUPPY ONE AND TWO HAVE BEEN SIGHTED AND THE POLICE ARE DOING NOTHING. Following a positive sighting and then seeing one of the pups ourselves - definitely puppy two, we reported the matter to the police. Yesterday I was informed by a DC at Edmonton police station that search warrants were written out and would this morning be presented at Court. Today I got a call from the officer in the case - PC Dunn at Edmonton. He now tells me he knows nothing about the warrants, that he will not even visit the addresses until next week, and even then, if the people holding our puppies say they bought them legitimately, they will leave them there, give us the details, and we will have to take out a civil case. They will not get them back. They have also refused funding for a DNA test. I told them that in this case, we will have to go and get the pups back ourselves. He told me not to do that, as we might then get arrested. SOMEBODY HELP US. WHAT DO WE DO?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We always thought that at least some of the puppies would turn up in East London. A couple of weeks ago I postered around Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium in Chingford. Today I got a call from a chap who had seen the posters and was sure he had seen at least one, maybe two of the pups in the E4 area close to where his mate lives. He was able to give us pretty good directions. We drove down there and we saw one of the puppies. Could do nothing at the time, due to having a car full of dogs, kids and the fact that the man walking the pup had a baby with him. We are going to the police right now. I will be telling them that we are only interested in getting the puppies back. Please keep everything crossed - we've had a week of vile crank calls and false leads. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have a strong feeling that Sissy and Gerry are in East London and that is why they haven't been sighted. I was in Stratford on Friday and postered the town center and all along Romford Road. Can I ask that East London helpers begin postering. I'm thinking Hackney, Plaistow, Forest Gate, Walthamstow, Stratford, Canning Town, Tower Hamlets. And I still think some of the others are in Tottenham.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Very grateful to majorjet, who has provided new posters and leaflets for our search. We will be attending a local festival tomorrow, and will leaflet the whole crowd. We will also have a "have you seen our puppies?" banner. We are so tired of driving round and following up leads that lead nowhere. But hey, tired is nothing. Our puppies are missing us, missing their mum. We will just carry on and on until they come HOME. Please study the photographs and remember SISSY and her brother and sisters. We have spent the last couple of days following up a couple of leads, one seeming to go nowhere, another quite promising. Postering and newspaper reports really seem to be helping. So many kind people willing to help. Thank you all. Please keep your eyes peeled when around Edmonton, Bullsmoor Lane and West green Road in Tottenham. The little girl who was returned is growing fast, approaching 8 weeks now and about a foot tall. Her brother and sisters will be the same size, and looking quite staffy now. If you need to call me, please have patience. I ped my phone down the loo this morning and need to go and get a new one. Some posters have been removed, will be out tonight replacing them. Anyone in the Barnet /Southgate area seen anything? Dog warden still heard nothing. I think in a couple of weeks when people are getting fed up of having to keep the pups indoors, then we'll get some results. All you people who have dogs missing from the Enfield/Haringey area, can we get together to try and raise awareness locally?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have now had 2 sightings of tiny puppies that sound like ours in the Church St/Winchester Road area of Edmonton, N9. In particular, it looks like the female tiger brindle is in the possession of a young man, possibly teenager, of mediterranean appearance. Little tiger girl was seen tied to a post outside the kebab shop in Winchester Road, while the man went inside. I've just been down there and postered everywhere. The kebab shop owner was very helpful and put up a poster inside the shop. He also said he thought he may have seen one of the white puppies. Do you know this man? Please keep looking. I am on 07958 535128. I can't believe that young people find it so amusing to make crank calls. So far I've been told that our pups are in the river Lea, in the caller's freezer, and that they have killed them. Good thing I am a tough old boot and impervious to this nonsense. Please keep looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just discovered from the police, after trying to speak to them for a week, that the person they have charged in relation to the theft of our puppies is a woman. They will tell me little else, other than that she does not live in the borough of Enfield. She had 2 male accomplices and was traced because an off-duty police officer was walking past the flat as they came out with the puppies. The officer took a note of the car registration number. Clearly thought something was wrong - why didn't they intervene? The woman will probably get community service, I was told. I despair, I utterly despair. How can a person like that have anything to offer the community? please keep looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a call from a lady today who thinks she was offered one of the pups by a couple of young boys last Thursday (26/07) or Friday (27/07), in Church Street Edmonton. She has only just seen the poster. She said the boys were of mediterranean appearance, possibly Greek or Turkish. She told them to take it back to it's mum as it was too young to be alone. They told her it was 13 weeks, but it clearly wasn't. She said she saw a police car shortly after and it went after them. Why haven't I heard about this from the police? Please keep looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

you need to POSTER jollys and personally speak to the people in there , so if your dogs do end up in there it will be trying to proof that these dogs are yours and have been stolen from your house, that way they will not be able to pass them off as their pups , i am personally not a lover of that place to say the least and so at least they wont end up in there. my vets is in rosemary avenue so perhaps you sholud poster there too, i do not have a printer at the mo so cant help to poster, if you have some posters to spare i will poster my end if you pm me your address, heres hoping for the save return of these babes quicklyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How bad can this get ? I am so sorry this has has happened. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Sissy well. Stay safe little one, until we find you x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This little girl is one of a litter of 6 stolen in the afternoon of Wednesday 25 July. The thief kicked the door in and took them all while mum Eve must have been going mad. Poor Eve misses them terribly. So do we - the puppies all had loving responsible homes to go to. We are absolutely heartbroken.
