Wonderful news and recovery well done all ! xxx
Bo
I move many rescue dogs every week. Safest (based from experience) is a good fitting collar and lead plus a slip lead. I've seen dogs back out of harnesses and unless properly fitted with both front and back clip - I personally wouldn't recommend them.

Great news ,she looks a real character! Stay safe now Daisy x

Mike you may find she will be better on a harness as well as a collar for the time being that way if she gets spooked again you have a back up x

I did a 50 mile trip with a trap, set it in place, had a search around area & set off back home. I was luckily only a few miles away on my journey back home, when I got a call from Mike her owner, to say she had been caught. She didn't even have the grace to use the trap I so lovingly & carefully set!
She was caught inland a couple of miles away by a farmer who was out on his horse & saw her resting in some bushes.
Welcome home Daisy you little rascal.

Well done Bev you have been brilliant xx

I've just come home from searching for the last 2 hours, and early on, was within feet of her! We sat while I had a conversation with her, me avoiding eye contact. I tossed some biscuits towards her but didn't want to hit her with them, so because she needed to move to reach them, she chose to ignore them. We sat for several minutes like this, and then I just sat quietly. Eventually, she felt the need to leave and walked slowly away. I tracked her for a while, but she is hiding in a thick hedge and I lost sight of her. A good 1hr later, she was seen sniffing around a tent on a campsite below the BayView Inn. Then she was seen heading towards the road, so someone managed to block her exit and she went back inland. I didn't see her again but it was now pouring and I think she's taken cover. She didn't take any food left last night at the bungalow.

Sighted near the car park...have informed Max and called Bev who is on her way...sadly owners phone is off...but will keep trying...If any one in the area please call HQ 01633 668364 and we can pass on co-ordinator Max details who has the mobiles of those in the area.
Bev
Is there any news this morning? Do we know if she took the food at the house where she was near? Owner's phone is switched off at the moment......I am happy to go again today if it felt appropriate to everyone. I got within a few feet of her yesterday....so frustrating.

It seems that Daisy is staying within a certain area. She is terrified at the moment, so we are going to leave trying to catch her.The owner of a nearby house where she went last night, is going to try to gain her trust by putting out food & water. Her owner will try also, as he is remaining in area. A member of the Dogs trust team is there too. I think this is a waiting game.

Thanks Red Alert, I will get a trap organised & try & get it over there. Perhaps we can liaise with the chap whose garden she was in & see if he will put it there.

Just arrived back from a group search for Daisy. The good news is she is clearly visible to everyone in a field opposite the car park and was almost within arms reach at one point. She is clearly very anxious and frightened and despite our best efforts she remains in Widemouth. Daisy slept in a nearby garden last night and the owner has agreed to befriend her with food and water to gain her confidence. Mike her owner is staying close by. Its clear that she can not just be 'caught' or reassured with food or other dogs. In fact I would say she is frightened of not only people but other dogs at the moment. I should just say that a walker actually had hold her but was nipped and had to let her go. I know Maxine Young DogLost coordinator has some ideas and i will taking to her later. Daisy's owner Mike has asked for support as he has mobility problems and I know everyone is doing what they can.

Late night last night so apologise for not updating. A dog fitting Daisy's description was seen by a couple as they traveled in their car towards the car park (ice cream van car park) at about 9pm. She ran across the road and down a track, this track is about 500 yards from the car park up the hill and in front of 2 bungalows. I am now aware that this is a public footpath. As I drove down the track I met another dog walker who had just seen the dog fitting Daisy's description. She was heading back towards the Weir Cafe so at least we know the track she is using. We walked as far as we could as it was getting dark but there were no further signs of her. I did go back to the car park and left a dish of dog food just in case she returned. I was in touch with her owner who was planning to be around the area at dusk today. Everything crossed for the search at mid day today.

There has been a sighting a short time ago by some walkers. They saw a dog which fits Daisy's description walking down a track towards the direction of the car park from where she went missing. I have someone down there who is going to try & get hold of owner.

There was apparently a sighting this morning by a jogger, seen near to Weir Restaurant, Maramchurch, Bude, heading towards Widemouth Bay. Have sent doglost link to their fb page for info.

Search tomorrow at Midday Widemouth Bay...... if you approach the main carpark and Cafe by the life guard station and look to the right further up the hill is a car park where the ice cram van usually parks. However if they look fora black mini 7, reg BJ06 ZXO. Thanks

I have spoken to Daisys owner. He had only just picke dDaisy up from Dogs Trust at Ilfracombe & was giving her a toilet break. She had been very good & no problems, but was suddenly spooked by something, pulled out of her collar & ran off. Mike her owner has postered immediate area & is printing off more to get out tomorrow.
Have offered advice re scenting, which may be difficult, but Mike could use her collar & a blanket she had in the crate.
