- Lovely news posted to Doglost Dorsets page .....
"UPDATE..she is doing really well, out of danger now, making full recovery thanks to the amazing vets. Although she had recently had her nails clipped, and obvious was not cared for correctly, the RSPCA might not have enough for prosecution. The great news is that she has a really nice potential forever home for the rest of her life, who are experienced and she will hopefully have a happy ending to her very traumatic recent life, free from pain and further suffering.."

- I sent a direct e-mail to the RSPCA asking for a response and just received the initial press statement back as a reply. Not impressed but hope this lovely lass is doing better.

- No update that we are all aware of but Gnasher who posted this poor girl in here has asked. Hopefully she will find something out and let us know. X
- 2016-08-15 20:31 ClaireC
- I will try
- 2016-08-14 12:13 Esther
- Claire would it be possible to try to get an update on Dolly please ?
- 2016-08-09 13:26 Esther
- Still no news how Dolly is getting on? Perhaps if the RSPCA are asking for donations to help her it would be a good idea to let people know what is happening with her and which vets she is at so we could donate directly as suggested by Claire. I quite understand if there are on going investigations we do not need to have any of that information.
- 2016-08-04 17:51 Esther
- Would really like to know how Dolly is getting on
- 2016-08-01 18:42 ClaireC
- Rose, I do apologise and yes I think I need new glasses!!
- 2016-07-29 20:15 Esther
- Is there an update on how Dolly is getting on now ?
- 2016-07-29 13:03 Rose
- Jayelle, I think I need to wear my glasses lol, thought the markings on her leg looked rather strange!
ClaireC, It was the comment RSPCA made'We think she was an owned dog who was dumped as her nails had recently been clipped. Everything xd she makes full recovery, she looks to be on the way! x - 2016-07-28 06:38 ClaireC
- Rose, she may have had her nails clippes whilst she's been with the vets/rspca whilst in their care.
- 2016-07-27 20:57 BorderCol
- I think that is a bandage on Dollys right leg, not liver markings. It is her left leg we can see which does have a few liver spots.

- Pilots mum... looking at 102505's legs they look mostly white whereas Dolly's right leg is covered in liver spots. Dolly has apparently had her nails clipped recently so someone has had her but obviously cannot say cared for her, she is just skin and bone poor love x
- 2016-07-27 12:53 Pilot's mum
- It is a very long shot, as so far away, but could she be the English Springer stolen near Whitby on the 27th April no. 102505?
- 2016-07-27 10:35 Esther
- Good idea Claire.
- 2016-07-27 10:19 ClaireC
- Thank you for update on the lovely Dolly. I notice rspca are asking for donations towards her treatment, but can donations be made to the vet direct where she is receiving care please?
- 2016-07-27 08:38 Esther
- I so so hope she makes a full recovery. Her little face looks a little brighter. Many thanks to those looking after her. Everything crossed here for her.

'Three-year-old Dolly was found lying on the ground and extremely weak on July 13 by a member of the public.
She is now in the hands on the RSPCA where she is receiving treatment.
Inspector Jo Story said: “Dolly is a lot perkier than she was. She is unable to get up but she wags her tail, her eyes follow you round the room and she can lift up her front leg to give you paw too.
We are all so pleased with the progress she has made already but she is so poorly she has a long way to go yet. She is a little fighter.
“She is receiving intensive care at a local vets and they are doing a fantastic job looking after her.
“At the moment she cannot move by herself she needs to be turned every few hours to prevent sores.
“We think she was an owned dog that was dumped as she had her nails clipped recently. But she is so extremely thin and weak it will have taken quite a while for her to get into this state.
“We have received some information from the public about Dolly which we are investigating but we would still urge anyone who might know where she has been for the last month or so to contact us on our Inspectorate Appeal Line 0300 123 8018."
Ms Story added: “She is so emaciated and very weak. Poor Dolly is the thinnest dog I have seen in a very long time.
“I see cases of dogs dumped like Dolly on a regular basis but she was so incredibly thin and weak it just breaks my heart. The condition she was found in is just disgusting and no animal should be left in this state without veterinary treatment.
“If the kind member of the public had not found her we do not know how long she would’ve been left to suffer there. She was covered in urine and faeces and was very dirty.”
Anyone with information can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
The RSPCA is raising money for Dolly’s veterinary treatment. Anyone who would like to make a donation can visit rspca.org.uk/dolly.

- So awful to see any dog in this sort of condition but glad that she was found (hopefully in time) and is now receiving the care she deserves.
I hope she is able to recover from her ordeal and that her owner (if she was stolen) will be found. Still amazes me that breeders do not keep records of where they home dogs to.

"RSPCA Investigate After Dog Found "Close To Death"
Posted on Friday 15 July 2016
The RSPCA says it is investigating after a dog was found "collapsed and close to death" in Bournemouth.
Dolly the 3-year-old springer spaniel was discovered by a member of the public behind a funeral parlour in Pokesdown on Wednesday afternoon (13 July).
He rushed her to the nearby PDSA vets for emergency treatment.
Now RSPCA inspectors are appealing for information about what happened to her and how she came to be in such a state.
Inspector Jo Story said:
“Thankfully the kind member of the public that found Dolly rushed her straight to the PDSA for treatment.
“If he had not found her we do not know how long she would’ve been left to suffer there. She was covered in urine and faeces and was very dirty.
“She is emaciated and very unwell. She is so weak she has trouble standing up. Poor Dolly is the thinnest dog I have seen in a very long time and we are just waiting to hear back from vets about how she is doing following blood tests and treatment.
“She was microchipped, but only to the breeder who bred her, so we know she is three years old and the breeder thinks the family who had her called her Dolly but any contact details that they had for them no longer works. The owners also never changed the details on the microchip.”
Jo added: “I see cases of dogs dumped like Dolly on a regular basis but she was so incredibly thin and weak it just breaks my heart. The condition she was found in is just disgusting and no animal should be left in this state without veterinary treatment.
“I would urge anyone who may have details about where she has come from or how she came to be in this situation to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018."
