There has been a report of two ladies trying to sell non house trained chihuahuas in Chippenham near Bath, if anyone gets offered one, can you please tell Margaret Greening straight away, as she may be able to get down there, and see who it is. Lel has now deleted her post from rescue pages, and added apology. All readers be aware that this information was on an open forum, and news like that will travel fast. If you do see a posting on any other forum please update it with the correct information - only one had been reunited with owner to date.

I have read the dogs world today and it does say a further two Chihuahuas had been found-but they were actually some one elses that had been stolen from Essex not the ones from Wiltshire. Sorry Margeret a false emergency.

Hello, i emailed lel, saying that the dogs havent been returned, and that if she had any more information, could she please let us know, and she just emailed me back saying, "Hi Ileft the post on Dogpages regarding stolen/recovered dogs. I am relly sorry for any confusion or distress caused but there was a piece in Dogs World (Feb 6 - Page 5), that says, three chihuahuas were recently recovered. If this information is incorrect, i apolagise profusely for any distress caused by my post. Lesley Mcdonald." She has also apolagised on the Dog Pages web site, saying that she had made a mistake.

Yes I have been onto the website and seen posting too-do you think that Lel might stand for an organisation(using their Initials? like a rescue or something?) or maybe ithe person who posted it has more knowledge ie a police person? I have looked through their forum and the person has posted 150 times in a month-must be someone who seems sure of their facts. I will watch the postings to see what is going on. No smoke without fire as they say!

Have just seen a posting on dogrescue pages stating that 2 more Chihuahuas have been returned to owner-The owner has not got these dogs back! Does anyone know who posts under the name Lel? can she call us on 01909 730077 asap as owner would like to find out if her dogs have been recovered as stated and might still be at a police station somewhere and no one has informed her!!!

One of our helpers rang yesterday evening to say that a chihuahua was being offered for sale in a london ad mag. Chihuahua rescue looked into this chihuahua and deemed it legit-also it was a long haired chocolate and white 3 year old bitch. Well done to helper for letting us know.

Darn it I was so hoping the Wirral dog was one of them. There are quite a few ads in the online loots/adtrader type places for chi's at the moment - does anyone have anytime to call them? If they're looking for dogs at the moment, they might just might come across someone trying to palm off these ones. The more people who know the better.

Have just spoken to owner-Eli may is curled up asleep in her kitchen. It appears the information on where Eli may was found is not correct. She was actually found in a supermarket trolley left outside a shop in Rosebury road, Dursley. We are trying to talk to the girl who found her and see which supermarket the trolley came from. All Supermarkets have CCTV cameras and they may have picked up who stole the trolley in the first place. Also checking all shops in Rosebury road to see if they have CCTV cameras-it appears we are dealing with amateurs here!!

Have just had a call from an animal welfare lady who has reported that a pregnant Chihuahua was dumped in a basket at a remote spot in Gloucester late last night-chances are she is Mrs Greenings dog-dumped bacause of all the publicity! Fingers crossed!!

Thank you wiltshire pet search for spreading the word-We have had both Somerset and Devon petsearch co ordinators contact us today and are busy cross posting and informing all their contacts. having spoken to owner today it appears that they were not proffessional thieves as they had to break into her garden shed to find tools to break into Kennels! We now think it could be opportunists-in which case they are probably some where local-Though do not give up the nationwide hunt-just in case!!

Chihuahua breed club and rescue are doing a wonderful job informing all Chihuahua owners to be on the look out for these dogs-Owner is very grateful for all the support-these must be the hottest dogs around-So hopefully they will get back soon.

Jazzi, I have faxed you a list of all the vets , dog wardens,petshops and kennels I have e mailed or faxed the poster too in the South West and central areas so we are not stepping on each others toes-There is also a list of the ones not contacted because they do not have e mail and their fax machines are either non existant or engaged. These have phone numbers! So if you know anyone wanting to help by informing them do e mail list on.

More details: 3 year old white dog entire, 2 year old fawn dog entire, 7 year old bitch Dark cream, pregnent bitch fawn due in 2 weeks, 2 creamy white 6 month old bitches. Dogs names are available by contacting us. We have been on the phone to the National press so hopefully some coverage tomorrow. Please cross post to as many sites as possible. We are doing automatic mailling to inform helpers,vets,kennels , petshops and dogwardens in the area.
