There is a young looking Border on www.wirraldogs.gov.uk, picked up 08/10/07. Could be a puppy but worth checking. Borders look so different as coat grows and looks uncared for

hi louse i also have a missing border amy 13 years old she went missing on 11th july im the same at the mo just seem to be covering the same ground endlessly with out a result i miss amy so much and still can't beleave its happened im still not sleeping or eating prop tinking where could she be so try and keep your chin up i under stand how you feel melanie

hi aal, I am away working in germany and feel SO out of touch with my search for Stig...some advice to go to Swanley area...can anyone give me an insight to that?? Is there a possibility he maybe there- where 'other' dogs have been located...please keep looking! I will go IF/WHEN i feel i have a positive lead... Miss him dearly and have photos on my laptop to remind me how adorable he was... Louise.x

Long shot but young Border, male 7-8 months found on www.rykat.org/forums,(look for lost and found) posted yesterday, found in Peterlee, Co. Durham. This dog had been hit by a car before being taken to Police station

Last night I got excited as some lads rang me from a local pub saying they had found two dogs roaming the lanes in Catsfield, a village about 2/3 miles away! Racing in the car with a friend, my cash in hand, I arrived to see a lurcher and immediately knew the little cross border/jack russell was not my dear stiggy. Yet I was able to recognised the dogs and they were picked up within 10mins- my good turn for the day! It made me realise we dog lovers do know the dogs in our area, and hopefully out there someone will see Stig as a 'new kid on the block', and report a sighting...if he is in this vicinity-whereever he is! I had a surge of pride and a sense of goodwill being able to lead the dogs to their owners, and realise how satisfying being a sleuth is! I thanked the young folk who had picked the dogs up for their kindness and for ringing me...at least my posters are working! Now I am wondering if i need to do more campaigning- a new surge of energy to get my sweet little fellow back...

After being away for a week i am back on the quest of finding stig- have kept up the message in the local friday add and followed all leads and do not intend giving up! It was hard going away and everyday Stig look-a-likes appeared though there were pangs of pain from me and my boys we are determined to get him back! Thanks for all your care and attention helpers and keep your eyes opened...my life is now on the quest to help everyone find their missing buddies from their 'family' life.

Sorry that Stig is still missing. I emailed contacts that i have in Crowhurst and surrounding areas when he first went missing in the hope that they had sighted him - i think that they knew of him anyway. I also see that an advert was put in the Friday Ad last week - i hope that brought some news. If you need anything checked out in the Herstmonceux area then let me know as it is not that far from me. I hope that Stig turns up safe and well. x

Got two calls since the news has gone out to local papers...hoping little stig is in the herstmonceux area...hopeful!! Will keep you all informed when i get to hear about a dog that was picked up a few weeks ago!!

Well, three weeks on and I am still circulating posters-printed over 750 that will be put into local newspapers at the newsagents. I am also intending to visit alot of the summer fayres.Will look out for other dogs missing in my area. Keep looking everyone!!

Hi- I have been still on the search!dear Stig has been gone now for nearly 3wks!! I have made contact with a man that will keep his eyes and ears open for any news but i was disturbed to hear that recently there has been a loss of other dogs in this area. i sympathise and care for all you dog owners who are also distressed and on the the journey of dog hunting- trying to get our lives back together. xx Louise Stig's Mum.xx

I agree with the last posting - You have to keep checking and checking again with the kennels etc. - our Lab went missing & was noted as not being micro-chipped - the micro-chip had migrated right down his leg - it was there, they just were not scanning in the right place. Keep looking for this little treasure! Jane H

Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Stig well. Stay safe Stig until we find you x
