- Thanks to the person who tried to help this dog. I too ger verty angy when I hear things like this, although I am usually quite placid. If this dog has been used for bait, then it is a shame we cant do the same to them. Preferably with tigers. To those responsible; rot in hell. And you will get your comeuppance one day. You can count on it. Lousy rotten pieces of scum. Now you are back to full health, and in the arms of a loving Angel Nightie night.sleep tight, andgh ave fun at the bridge with your pals. RIP+ God Bleswsx A~~~Candle~~~burns for you. Run freex Ps At least this poor boy had some comfort and love at the end

- So many thanks to the person who tried to help this poor dog. It can be frightening dealing with a hurt animal of any kind. I am sure people will understand things can be said in that sort of situation that we might think better of later. Thank you for helping him. I hope he is running happy and pain free at the bridge. God Bless. I would be honoured to have him walk beside me when my time comes to cross over.

- Taken from FB .....So Sid found this poor boy, abandoned in a field near the Jubilee this morning. He's probably been used for bait, as he had a deep chest wound, blood all over his head, wounds all over his legs, inside his back legs were all raw and infected. He couldn't even lift his head. The other photo is the curtain and towel he was obviously dumped in. He's a big, Lurcher type dog (and got heavier as I carried him across the Jubilee Field..!)
I called the RSPCA, but decided he was too poorly and obviously dying so I rang again and they told me to take him to Vets 4 Pets at Wheatley. They scanned him for a chip (no microchip), then told me they couldn't do anything, because they had skeleton staff today. I was told to take him to the RSPCA at Bawtry, where, upon my arrival I was given a list of vets phone numbers. Luckily, there was an inspector there who took him straight to a vets, because if he hadn't I may have still been driving round now, looking for someone to help him.
Hopefully, he survived the journey. I will never, ever understand who could do this to a dog. I sincerely hope they don't have children. Shame on you. What I have learned today, is that I was absolutely right to stop taking my dog to Vets4Pets 3 years ago, as they are just there for the money, not the animal. I'll ring the RSPCA later to find out how he is, and update you if you're interested.
*Apologies to the nice people on the Jubilee for my blubbing and bad language too*
** I should also mention the RSPCA at Bawtry is just a rehoming centre, and only have vets on site once a week for their residents. Unfortunately I didn't know this, but was directed there by the vet. I was upset at the time of writing this post, but should mention that the Inspector there was very concerned and bundled him off to a vet that could help straight away. It's lucky he was there. The staff there can't be blamed if they're not equipped to help.**
*** UPDATE***
The RSPCA inspector has called to say they are cleaning him up, leaving his wounds open at the moment due to the infection, and have him on fluids and antibiotics. He said they will monitor him overnight as they are unsure if he has gone into organ failure at the moment, so they need to see how he responds. They'll let me know tomorrow. - 2016-05-30 09:14 JulieH
