Ps I have learnt a lot when talking to volunteers who work for Cat Protection when we have taken homeless cats to them for neutering/spaying. (Now rehomed) They also told me that they have to try, and educate (Cat Protection) people because to them it is unfair to neuter/spay as they think it is mutilation. To me it is just common sense. And also if they find a stray cat that it is is the very ealy stages of pregnancy they will abort them if it is safe for the cat
because they cant cope with the numbers of kittens born. They dont abort in the later stages.

Also I have had cats for `141/2 years, and I know that they dont like change. Some cat owners will let their cats out after a couple of days if they have moved house, and of course the cat will then try to find his/her way back to it`s previous home. You should keep your cat in for at least a week so they get used to it.. I was advised by Cat Protection (Rescue cat) to keep my cat in for a month. And I did. It wasn`t easy

Also it is best to have your cats neutered/spayed for
obvious reasons. Stops the males from spraying on furniture too Yours is I know. And un-neutered male cats
especially will sometimes go a long way crossing busy roads looking for a female to mate with.
Pss A neutered male cat usually will only have a territory of about 4/5 s to where you live It`s about 3/4 for a spayed female It is certain cultures who dont like the idea of neutering/spaying, but apparently CP are managing to educate, and explain to them why neutering/spaying is best.

Thanks janiejewel1649 for some great cat advice. I am at a disadvantage when it comes to cats, dogs and horses - I'm fine. But although cats are great, I have no experience and very little knowledge.

I am notifying work colleagues in Taunton that beautiful Max is missing.

Looks like a Bengal. Neutered cats dont tend to go to far usually fomr home. Presume sheds, garages etc where searched? Put some tuna in his dish, and keep calling him; night/early morning is best. Rattle some treats too. Put something with his scent on such as his blanket/bedding, and place in a clean container, along with something with your scent on too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, and gates too. Walk around the area carrying something with his scent on, and shake some treats too. Someone may be feeding him. Poster around the area, and put "Lost" posters through doors too. Please be aware that some pedigree cats are being stolen in certain parts of the country. Hopefully his microchip, posters, publicity, and shares will help bring him home. Paws xd.Last edited: 2016-05-23 19:44:30

Sorry to see that MAX is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (100431)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
