Unfortunately the police have called the adopters and Carolina got hit on the roads. I only found this out when I just called Lorna's husband. I have phoned Hazel, who had just arrived back. Hazel did absolutely everything possible to find her so this is a very sad outcome.
Sammie
4bichons has her trap set up and we have someone watching it. The fosterer and her step daughter have had to return home tonight, but after 2 nights sleeping in a car they must be exhausted. It is likely she will return though after work tomorrow.
Offers of help are still coming in, but we are trying to keep the area as quiet as possible now hoping that the trap will work.
Thank you very much to the two people who called in the sightings today.
Sammie
Still waiting to speak to Hazel but her Step daughter has confirmed they have walked on the golf course, spoken to the staff, groundsmen are looking and there are posters there.
By all means spread the word and tell anyone that uses that road or golf course to look out for her, but not to approach as she may bolt and we just need her to stay where she is, ie safe.
Sammie
Message from fosterer:
"Had a sighting on the a418 about a mile from services she was running along side of road. Are over there now, spoken to the police who looked but couldn't find her but he's now logged my number on the incident report in case of further sightings. Also a man saw her in same area and called me when he saw poster in services"
Hazel
Sadly still no sign of carolina last night. Any offers of help gratefully accepted. We are at the far end of the car parking in front of the grass embankment. I have to go back home to Sussex today but hope to return tonight
Sammie
I dont think the fosterer is looking on here as she is very far from home and I understand maybe sleeping in her car at the services for a second night and only able to charge her phone from the car. Text again if you have not heard back by morning.
Willow
I left at 7.40 after helping with the search for 5 hours, but sadly no sightings at all.
Hazel has to keep running her car engine to charge her phone a little bit, so may not always be able to answer your messages.
A trail of chicken has now been left in the hope of tempting Carolina out, and one of Hazels dogs has been around a lot of the area, so that will be another good scent to follow. The search area is massive and not at all search friendly, so it's making things very difficult.

I sent a text to fosterer but not heard back. I can help for a couple of hours on Tuesday as Wheatley services are about 10 mins away from me.Can someone text me if you need me to help 07711505847
4bichons
Tried sending a message to Hazel I am now able to go to the services to search and to post posters ANYWHERE in the area. We have a humane animal trap which we can set up if Carolina is sighted with food and water. Please let me know the latest update. I am an MT fosterer and 100% in support xx

If anyone can help today please phone or text the fosterer as she probably has no access to the internet as she is not from this area:

Message back from forsterer this am:
"Adopter spoke to motorway police last night, seems the sighting was near the slip road and time fits. We have been searching in that area and behind ut. And last night hubby and I drove round to look (there's a service road parallel with it) and I walked along calling but no sign. She's been with me over a year and I'm sure would have come to me when I called, especially in the early hours when it was very quiet.
This morning just the 3 of us searching and I'm going to have to go home later today.

Also notified local police who will inform local council and dog warden

I have spoken to highways this evening. There was a report of a dog earlier in the day of similar colour but when police attended they could not locate. I have advised that adopters need to go back to police to get better description of where the sighting was incase it was her and she back tracked when she found a busy road.
Sammie
Please text the fosterer on 07900923872 if you are able to help at all. Neither the fosterer or adopter are from the area so printing posters / flyers will be almost impossible for them. So things like that could be helpful (especially small ones to hand out).
Sammie
Bo, thanks for the postcode correction. I took that from a google search, but I have texted the fosterer if she can check with a shop there that that postcode is definatley where she is.
***updated at 22.39 - foster confirms she is at OX33 1JL
I have texted the fosterer to see if she needs more help there but I understand some people are on their way.
I have also offered to update the page for her, but you may find other rescue staff or fosterers may get an update before me and update.Last edited: 2016-05-22 22:38:58 by Sammie

Yes - the fosterer and adopting family are there now looking - that update was on doglost Oxfordshire FB page
maxine
is there a search going on or what pls?
Willow
Does anyone know if more help is needed or if there are enough people there? I can be there in about an hour but it will be getting dark by then.
maxine
have there been any sightings? poor love must be scared xx
Bo
Postcode is OX33 1LJ - the one above is wrong xx
Bo
At least that's a safer area than Ox2 services
Sammie
Bo best to text the fosterer who is there now, its her number above. She says she is at Oxford services northbound on M40 not at peartree as I was informed earlier when requested to log Carolina.
Bo
Do we know where abouts she came out of her harness - if it's the coffee car park then there's fencing she can't get through all the way along it - on doglost Oxford they're saying Oxford services on the M40 which is OX33 1LJ - they're a fair way from OX2 services - any idea as phone going to voicemail as someone else trying to find out as well? Bo I was passed the info to load for the Rescue as far as I am aware they are still there and the fosterer was on her way up there too. At the moment I have only been passed the one phone number which is the fosterers.

Deatails for the service station are:

I have posted on Doglost Oxfordshire which seems the most local FB page:

One of the busiest junctions in Oxford - know it well. Are they (adopters) still there?
