After a lot of hard work and patience Bilbo was caught in the trap last night and is safe x

Thankyou KimmyBear , a trap has been found and being collected as we speak. I will pass all your comments, offers and advice onwards. They are being very patient and aware not to chase . Lets hope this is one step nearer to getting Bilbo home.

So pleased he is doing okay out there and has been seen. The largest trap we can get from retail, is probably bit bigger than fox height. Does the dog warden have one? There are no GSD size traps unless hand made. If you haven't trapped before speak to Helen or myself, or an official DL person, as it needs to be precise or he will never go in again. It can be done, most definitely. Sometimes these dogs do get won over by a person they make a bond with but as Helen says do not chase. Let owner be that person. Come on Bilbo, please come home. x

Does anyone have a large dog trap that can be used for catching Bilbo ( large border collie/gsd size).Last edited: 2016-07-02 23:48:16 by G

Bilbo was seen at 1.50 this morning (25th June) running from the sea wall, across the road and down past the Columbine Centre into the field that is by the side of the primary school. It was too dark for the person to see where he went from there .... but we can guess back to Saville Street.

There was a positive and trusted sighting of Bilbo running past the traffic lights on Kirby Road this morning (Saturday 21st) at 2am. (Near the Martello building site).

Bumped Bilbo to the top because of the sightings x

People probably have the best of intentions but they need to be advised to not "rush out after him"-this will make him run further away as he will be very scared. Get some smelly food, sit down with your back to the dog and avoid eye contact and just wait.

Posted on let's find Bilbo fb group last night
Bilbo has just been seen in Suffolk street (15 mins ago). He came to my front garden, my dogs started barking, so me and my sister rushed out after him. We lost sight, but saw a man in a white van who was also trying to catch him. He said Bilbo ran into Vicarage Lane and then left onto the footpath leading to Mill Lane, we have ran all around, and couldn't see him. He probably returned to the fields behind the yacht centre area.

Bilbo was imported from Romania and subsequently came to Rescue. He is NOT dog, cat or human aggressive but is shy and will be wary. He will literally be "running scared".
There is a reward offered for this lovely, kind boy.
